Point taken. OSX does have some nice built-in MIDI features, especially the built-in MIDI over LAN.

YMMV. I personally have not yet had problems. I do composition and MIDI mockups and I use VEP with a slave.

Yeah it works OK. Of course it precludes the use of larger projects with many FX. For me, the whole point of having a slave was so that I could stay in the MIDI world as long as possible. I don't fancy having to go back to freezing tracks one at a time... otherwise I'd do everything on one machine.

The problem I'm having with this test is that I'm trying to find some sample that isn't a synth that doesn't have a round robin. Will let you know!
