Re: side chain compression of a single frequency band
You could try the stock de-esser, actually, but note that it's going to be tuned toward fast transients, so it may or may not fit the bill. Alternatively, you could find a 3rd party (free or paid) plugin with a sidechain eq. TDR labs' feedback compressor is a nice freebie. Barring either of those, y...

Re: DP 9 and Windows 10?
I have it on my system for testing, and thus far, it seems pretty good. If you've done w10 as an upgrade, it'll probably work fine. On my system, i do fresh installs, and disk image them because i do semi-annual clean installs to eliminate any munge from updates, etc. I use a disk image because of m...

Hmmm,it's working as it should for me.
Are you running DP as administrator, by chance?

Re: DP9 and performance
I did help a lot with "realtime" - no sign of crackles and cpu is more even not jumping around so much. Even to internal audio performance meter looks more calm. Just noticed that Waves plugins on a mono track get listed as a)mono->stereo b)mono c)mono ?????? should not be there or possib...

Re: Trying out DP8 - plug in trouble. Help please?
Seems to be in DP9 too - running trial. Mostly Waves I run, the needles on VU meters on compressors and EQ move now and then, 3-4s apart maybe. Had serious problem to move a knob on one Maserati ACG among other things. No continuous movement at all, only steps clicking at ticks on scale. It do this...

Re: Any tips how to do these things?
1c is do-able via doubleclicking the note on the keyboard. it works in the SE as well as the ME. [this is corrected, it's not ctrl+click!, sorry about that!] Also, to confirm, plugin gui lags were an issue with some vst plugs in v8, but v9 cured it. Aside from the settings in the Setup/Configure Aud...

Re: Do I dare to go Windows?
Test it if you can, particularly if you use 3rd party plugs and instruments heavily. Bear in mind that VST is a pretty "loose" format, so the odd issue here or there isn't unusual, even among hosts that have supported it for a long time. For me, some plugs have issues, while others work ju...

No surround VST plugs?
I've got a few, and I'm not seeing any VST plugs listed when a surround bus or track is in play.
Can anyone confirm? Is this a known issue due to the "new" vst support?

Re: Not understanding why so many VI's go to max volume now
I wish I could remember exactly what the fix was for me, it may also have had to do with automation read being enabled, but no automation being written.

Re: Not understanding why so many VI's go to max volume now
i've had this happen from time to time, and it had to do with the MIDI fader/automation. have you tried unassigning cc7 either from the MIDI fader or in the plugin?

Re: Audio dropouts / VST plugins problems
Yes, there are decidedly some teething pains, which is to be expected, i think. Report the issues to both the plugin devs, and motu (via techlink). If they don't know, they can't fix. VST Issues I've had confirmed thus far (all behave correctly in at least 2 other hosts): 1. GUI lags. Basically, the...

Re: DP first impressions
I would also love having k-metering as an option for the master fader meter (it's nicer than needing to use an insert/extra window). Re: scrolling through the mixer, i also use folders, and the selector window with the mixer. That works pretty well, and helps keep the arrangement and mixer pretty sa...

Re: DP8.07 installation fails on Windows 7
Try right-clicking the installer, and select run as administrator.
That helps for some, depending on user permissions, etc.
Hope you get it sorted...it installs fine here (win 7-8 x64).

Re: MAS version of VEPro pulled. Going back into beta
VST2 & 3 are completely separate animals, at least on PC. You cannot use one in place of the other. They're not interchangeable in either direction, as the architecture is apparently very different (auto-selection of mono vs stereo channels, explicitly defined sidechain support, and per-note exp...
