Re: Convert to mono
Ok, so the conversion to mp3 has to happen after? No way to export a stereo sound bite as a mono mp3, straight out of DP? There might be, I've just never looked. When I drop a .wav onto Apple Music, I convert to MP3 and discard the .wav copy once the conversion. is done. That way, I don't add bloat...

I’m only converting short files so it doesn’t really matter to me that DP is slow in that department.

Re: Convert to mono
Thanks HC. Your method is easy and fast, but......
That gives me .wav files, of course. I forgot to mention that I'm usually converting to mp3 as I export. Any easy way to wind up with a mono mp3?

Re: Convert to mono
Or you can convert the file from Interleaved to Non-Interleaved in Soundbites window, then drag to desktop. You will now have two mono files with L and R appendages. Re-name either one to omit the L or R and you have a mono file. I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I'll give it a shot and rep...

Convert to mono
Hi All, I have been using the Chris Lord-Alge vocal plug on voice overs of late. It's a stereo plug, so when I insert it anywhere it converts the track, or aux, from mono to stereo, which in turn results in a stereo soundbite when mixed. I'm only using it for compression basically, so I dont need a ...

Re: DP, Rosetta, Falcon, iLok
I guess for me then, it's simpler just to keep on the way I am rather than have Falcon open for this, Workstation for that, twice as many window to look at, etc. and so forth, plus, as you point out, uninstalling and reinstalling can itself be fraught with pitfalls. Suit yourself. It's working here...

Re: DP, Rosetta, Falcon, iLok
Thanks James, I didnt mean to make you do all that typing. Haha. Understood, if there is no completely "elegant" solution, the blame game is pointless, but the weird thing is, they DO work with Apple Silicon, under Rosetta. And the newer code obviously already exists. Huh? Wot? Whateffer. ...

Re: DP, Rosetta, Falcon, iLok
Hi All, Ok, others are in similar boats, I see. If I run DP under Rosetta, I can access all the old UVI stuff that came with Mach 5, using Falcon, and all the .ufs files are visible (in Falcon) in the column 2nd from the left, under "Soundbanks". However, if I open DP without Rosetta, all ...

DP, Rosetta, Falcon, iLok
I dont know where to post this really, but James will move it if necessary I assume.
Is anyone using DP with Falcon, iLok and Apple M1? Let me just ask that first before I start type a lot of useless/irrelevant information.
Thanks

Re: MacOS 12.6.1 AND MacOS 13 Ventura dropped today!
I'm still using Big Sur and I see the Ventura upgrade (which I wont be doing) but under "Other updates are available" there's only Big Sur 11.7.1, no Monterey. How come? Is that normal? Just curious, not upgrading to anywhere at present.

Cant hear soundbite by clicking and dragging
Hi guys, I'm in the Sequence Editor looking at soundbites. It used to be that if I highlighted a section of a soundbite by clicking and dragging across it, I would hear that portion of the soundbite. Suddenly, that's not happening. Silence. Anyone know why? I though it might be a problem with which ...

I don’t have, or need, the 10GB Ethernet Mike, so a little less, but even so….mikehalloran wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 11:06 am
Oh no, I wouldn't feel bad about that at all. Depending on the exact configuration, that M1 Mini would set you back $1,798 including AppleCare. In the Refurb Store, it would run you $1,618 w/ AppleCare

Re: Getting edge edit and moving soundbites to be smooth
Ok, I found the "Snap Information" window. How did that get messed up? Oy.
Still "Nudge" has to be set to some grid or other. Isnt there a way to make it just smoothly variable?

Getting edge edit and moving soundbites to be smooth
Hi, Suddenly, both edge edit and dragging soundbites are snapping to the grid unless I hold down "Command" while I'm doing it. Very annoying. What did I do? I must have pressed some button somewhere by mistake. This is in the Sequence Window, by the way, and "Edit Resolution check box...
