Re: Third Party 1394 bus controller drivers for XP and Vista
It's in there. I had the same thing going on too 'til I tried the 3.6.8.1398 driver out of desperation and it was the same. (started a tech support note over that one). Here's what I found: either unit by itself would work in asio, the driver would appear. I could switch back and forth between modes...

Re: traveler/x64/windows 7
if by listed you mean on MOTU's page take care, it's probably linked to the newest driver and not the driver listed. Yeah, I got that same "tude" also. Last tech issue they told me to update to the newest driver. When I asked if they had fixed the broken channel designation yet, they said ...

Re: How to connect two Motus via ADAT?
here's the step by step that worked for me:
http://www.harmoniccycle.com/hc/sound-motu_driver.htm
Keep in mind since the 896 only has one adat i/o you will only get 4 channels at samplerates above 44.1/48 khz.

Re: MK3 current driver question
no, if you have pre mkIII use 3.6.7.4 or earlier. For that gear it's the most stable.

I see where you're going here. And I understand too but if you're running 64 bit or considering it, give it a try. For better or worse we are Motu support,...

And if you have those 3.6.7.x 64 bit drivers please post them on the sticky in this section. Please?

Re: MK3 current driver question
yes, they add (double) latency whether or not you are using MkIII or pre-units. MOTU has apparently added an extra layer of buffering to support the dsp in the new units if you need it or not.

Re: Motu MK3 and Windows 7
were any of you trying Vista before? I've been hearing that some of the 7 refinements were being churned into vista upgrades. My hunch is that they've been able to tweak the off loading of video to the video card (supposed to be a plus with Vista) so the processor can deal with the audio directly. I...

Re: Third Party 1394 bus controller drivers for XP and Vista
I totally understand. given all the problems I hardly have a feeling of confidence, thought the most stable drivers are 3.6.7.4 and before from all accounts I've read (for pre MkIII)
Give it a whirl. It';s what's working for me here too.

Re: Problem: Audio breaks when two Ultralites are daisy chained
problem solved. nothing new though, its a problem with the new drivers. i got rid of my MK3 ultralite and replaced it with a MK1.. so two MK1s are daisy chained and they work perfectly with 3.6.7.3 drivers.. hopefully they'll fix this with new driver version.. don't' count on it. I have to turn on ...

Re: light pipe out on 896
and keep in mind since the 896 only has one i/o that you'll only get 8 channels at 48 k sample rate. If you're not using Cubase you'll probably have to set up the Motu audio interface too.

Re: new driver version
Your hypothesis sounds good to me. I wasted so much time trying to make the Dell 830 and the IBM M55e work and the embarrassment of messed up recordings, some of which could not be redone, that I finally said, look, I'm in the recording business and I have neither the time nor the resources to try ...

Re: Should I or should I not consider MOTU
If you are going to be using Windows with this gear, run as far away in the opposite direction as you can from anything that bears the MOTU moniker. Those who will read my posts here will know I am no defender of Motu with regards to how they run their company, treat their customers or support thei...

Re: new driver version
I'll have to take issue you with RealRoach. The fact that Dare and I both have systems that work fine with the standard OS indicates that "it's not broken." You, yourself, indicate that alternative drivers will "remedy" FW issues. Sure, but they are merely compensating for probl...

Re: Can't get MOTU Audio Console for original 896 on Vista
I have a MOTU 896 (original not mk3 or HD) and I am working with it on Vista, I was able to get the drivers to work (with the help of one of the other posts) but the Audio Console has an error when I try to bring it up from the VST Multilink setup in Cubase 4 LE. Has anyone else been able to get th...
