Re: Custom key commands - a cautionary tale

I've been caught by this one a few years ago. F# assigned to a sequence.
The cure is delete the MIDI command. Fast and easy.

But I can't remember what action, or actions chain, dit set that command in my computer.

Things may appear as bugs, while they are unexpected features.

Re: MOTU announces new 828 interface

[...] In most 1/4" to 1/4" situations, using TRS > TRS cables does the trick, as the ring is floated when plugged in to the TS Jack on an unbalanced input. Sorry to disagree somewhat, HCMarkus. I've encountered many situations where unabalanced inputs are sleeve AND ring to ground. On the...

Re: Favorite or recommended synth VIs

You can do it using the Blue Cat Connector plugin, which passes audio and/or MIDI back and forth between applications. I had it working a few years ago using Alchemy in Logic/Mainstage and recording in Studio One. I think I was able to record the MIDI in Studio One and have it trigger Alchemy, whil...

...and don't forget that the full version of Alchemy exists in MainStage. Also, I'd skip SynthMaster - probably my least used synth. I forgot about that — thanks for the reminder! If not purchased with the Pro Apps for Education Bundle, it's $29.99 on its own through the App Store.[...] Thanx Mike ...

Re: Favorite or recommended synth VIs

I get much use of Falcon, Kontakt and Pianoteq. I miss my deep and reliable Alchemy (all of my grrrrr to Apple, for ditching it to a Logic only v.i.) Slightly off-topic, but I get more and more use of my Waldorf Iridium (desktop), which is a stunning hardware virtual instrument. This box does wavefo...

Monty Python fellows may say:
Bands with tracks do use tracks, while bands with no track don't use tracks.

Re: Silencer from Wide Blue Sound -- Why?

Quite off-topic, but Soundtoys Superplate has an option: automatic reverb time changing according to input level (full length with low levels, short time for high levels). IMOE, this has been a very interesting and easy to tweak feature. That IS clever, and seems incredibly useful. Does it let you ...

IMHO, that's a database job. I've done a few in the past. Powerful in the end, but heavy job. Creating a database is one thing, maintaining it is another big one.

Re: 828x and SSD Noise

Not sure about your case, but sure, I've encountered noises while using audio devices and computers. Quite always solved with audio isolation transformers with earth-lift AND/OR usb-isolators. IMHO, this one is a must have in any digital studio: https://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/Keterex/KXUSB-150?...

Re: Fastlane + M2 Mac (latest MIDI driver), dropped connection

Sorry to appear like beating a dead horse, but none of my music Mac ever went to sleep. in this forum, I've been told long ago, to always avoid. Which I've done since. BTW, I always boot the computer first, then any connected device after. Of course doesn't apply to Fastlane which has no external po...

I took the plunge. So Far so good on Monterey. I didn't notice any sort of *snappier* behaviour, though

Re: Falcon 3 is coming!! Leaked video?

Good news! Thanx for posting.
IMOE, Kontakt is fine when using a patch *as is*. But building one from scratch (or massive tweaking one) is far better (and clearer) in Falcon. Still some learning curve involved, though.
