Re: Orchestral reverb spacing
Back in the ol' analog days, if mixing a multi-mic'd orchestra, we'd add a little more reverb to the instruments in the middle row, then a bit more to the back. Not a whole lot, just enough reverb to give the illusion of the depth that had been flattened by using multiple microphones in the orchest...

Re: Orchestral reverb spacing
Absolutely ! Bring it on DP 10.3 etcPrime Mover wrote:The ultimate feature that I proposed at one point was to allow insert effects IN the send bus. That way every track could have its own delay and EQ to a bussed reverb. Wouldn't that be awesome?!

Re: Orchestral reverb spacing
I presume you mean delay the signal slightly...any delay plugin should work fine. Just insert the plugin on three Aux Tracks and send to your chosen reverb from those tracks. That is what I thought too. But when I opened the DP Delay, the signal seems to be sent to Filter, feedback and x-feedback a...

Orchestral reverb spacing
Is there any way I can simply pause a signal for a specific no of milliseconds in DP ? I am trying to use one reverb for an orchestral piece, but I want to try feeding that reverb from 3 intermediate aux busses, Front, Middle and Back, so I can put the reverb sends from the various instruments into ...

828 Mk3 Firewire getting very warm
I am concerned to note my 828 Mk3 Firewire is getting very warm after an hour or two of running.
I had it repaired a few months back - it was getting hot and giving off a fishy burning smell.
Currently there is just the warmth, no smell.
I got in 2010 - so what is the likely prognosis ?

Re: What is making my DP 9.52 so (swearword) slow ?
Thank you all for your comments. The problem was due to having lots of tracks open in quickscribe and lots of plugins open. I had started using Mission Control to have seperate screens for each DP window, and left stuff open all the time in them. Also, I was working on an orchestral piece and so had...

Yes, I have quickscribe open as I like to edit MIDI notes in a stave view.magicd wrote:Transcribing? Do you have the Quickscribe or Notation editor windows open?

What is making my DP 9.52 so (swearword) slow ?
Even simple things like selecting/deselecting a MIDI track in the tracks window takes up to 30 beachball seconds, while the message 'Transcribing MIDI' with a status bar flashes up half a dozen times or so ?

Re: Desktop misbehaving since Apple upgrade
Problem solved.
In System Preferences>Dock :
'Prefer tabs when opening documents;' - when I set it to manual I got my normal tab+window behaviour back.
How it got changed, I don't know.

Re: Desktop misbehaving since Apple upgrade
I have not been able to get through to Apple, as my serial no is not recognised.
But I have posted the question on their forum.
In the meantime I have re-installed 10.13.6 from last year, and the problems are still there ?
I am wondering is there something I can delete in my system preferences ?

Desktop misbehaving since Apple upgrade
I am currently using 10.13.6 and my desktop is misbehaving since I accepted the last auto upgrade from Apple. I organise my DP using mission control to give me separate screens for each window, but now the desktop insists on putting everything in a new tab in the same window, instead of opening a se...

Re: Timing bug in DP with XLN Addictive Drums 2
I have done some more testing using drum beats When I compare my MIDI note to its recording, I see that the start of the audio is exactly 4 tics before the start of the MIDI note it was recorded from ? With buffer set to 128 and 1024, makes no difference. Is this just how it works, or have I got som...

Re: Timing bug in DP with XLN Addictive Drums 2
Not sure what was happening in your original post, but in your latest post you seem to think that audio tracks will automatically change speed just by changing the tempo. This is not the case. After changing tempo you must select “Apply sequence tempo to sound bites” for them to change speed. Big t...

Re: Timing bug in DP with XLN Addictive Drums 2
I received a reply from Tech support, suggesting it might be latency, so suggested lowering buffer setting. However the recorded beats were playing back early, and not responding to any changes in the bpm setting in the conductor track. I thought it might be some kind of file corruption in my MIDI t...

Re: How do I do a clean re-install ?
I have now re-installed DP, and the problem is still there.
I have started it as a new thread under a different title, because it is not about how to do install.
So I won't reply further here.
