Hardly any samples, yet snap crackle and pop?
I don't know if this is the proper area for this question, but: Mac trashcan, 16GB memory, terabyte internal drive, samples and sessions on individual terabyte SSD drives in a Blackmagic enclosure, OS 10.9.5, DP 8.07, Kontakt 5.5.2.880. I have four instances of Spitfire Chamber Strings loaded into o...

Re: Play audio track backwards
Dialogue box! That sounds vaguely familiar. No, it's not showing up after I select the reverse plug-in. And I just have two monitors, and they're both on/visible. Five minute update: Ah - maybe it was being blocked by another open plugin, because once I knew what I was looking for, I found it! Rever...

Re: Play audio track backwards
I know this is an old thread, but - here's my snag with reversing audio: I'm running DP 8.07, and haven't had issues with the reverse plugin previously, but I also haven't used it in a while. Now, it is simply not working. I select a soundbite in the sequence window, go to Audio/Apply Plug-in, and c...

Re: Maybe time for a new monitor.
Hey Mike, Thanks for the clarifications! As far as someone offering me advice that conflicts with the collective wisdom of Apple and the users here - well now, that's why I'm talking with you guys about it, isn't it :-). Get HDMI monitors. Get the correct adapters. Follow the instructions. Call Appl...

Re: Maybe time for a new monitor.
I see, thanks! I'm used to a two-monitor setup too, but the word from one of the guys at Texas Media Systems is that the Mac will only see two monitors at a time without an additional internal card. If this is so, then depending on how much of a hassle that is, I'm thinking it may make sense to upgr...

Re: Maybe time for a new monitor.
Hey Mike, Thanks; I did manage to stumble across that article on my way to posting here as well...the fact that I'm plugging a pair of older monitors into the displayport/TB inputs via adapters is what's hanging me up, since I'll readily admit I don't entirely grasp how Thunderbolt differs from disp...

Re: Maybe time for a new monitor.
Thanks, wdegillio! Just curious, which specific LG model did you pick and how did you arrive at as the best choice for your setup?

Re: Maybe time for a new monitor.
I read this thread with interest as I've debated replacing my 8-year-old Dell DVI monitors as well. But mostly because I've been advised that unless I'm using actual Thunderbolt-connection monitors (as opposed to DVI-to-TB adapters) with my 2015 Mac Pro, I won't be able to attach a third monitor. Do...

Re: audio tracks synced to picture when Setting Chunk Start
Thanks, Frank, those were a couple of new moves to me and got me most of the way there. The thing I'm still trying to sort out is: I'm of course using different tempos for different cues, and so even once I relocate a given section of picture to a new location, I still don't necessarily have my down...

audio tracks synced to picture when Setting Chunk Start Time
So I've got this three-minute video and the v/o and sfx are provided as separate stems. I'm wanting to reset the chunk start time so I can work on a cue in the middle of the video. Is there a way to keep audio locked to picture when I do so? Right now, when I reset the start time, the audio stays wh...

Re: How to start play/spacebar from a footswitch?
This is something I would love to be able to do. I was able to add my sustain pedal to the play/stop commands by clicking in the MIDI events window and then stepping on my pedal - that is, it now shows up, but actually stepping on it has no result - is that the snag you were anticipating? Does it on...

Thanks, Mike. So far everything else does seem to be opening without the Time Machine restore.

Re: Restoring serial number info from Time Machine?
Thanks, Bayswater. I dug up the authorization code and got DP running fine, and so far everything else - plugins, etc - seem, knock on wood, to be working o.k.

Restoring serial number info from Time Machine?
So I just had the video card replaced on my 2013 Macbook Pro (under Apple Care). This is my secondary rig but I had *finally* gotten everything all dialed in, software updated, plugins all talking to each other about a month or two back. Got back the machine, went to open DP 8, and got a message ask...
