Re: Video size affect CPU??
I can't speak to #1 since I haven't experimented with external video. Regarding #2, I don't think the actual size of the video file is a big consideration. What makes the biggest difference is the codec used for the video file, since that determines how much CPU horsepower is required to decompress ...

Re: Switching to Ableton Live crisis
On a somewhat related note, I always loved that old saying "When all you have is a hammer, pretty soon everything starts looking like a nail." :) I've always loved that one too. Regarding DP and Ableton, they really are apples and doughnuts. I use both all the time and wouldn't want to be...

Re: Importing Rex files crashes DP
REX import in 7.22 appears to be an issue for a lot of people. They work as expected in 7.21, so some folks are using that for REX work, and hoping for a fix in the next update.

Re: original track is copying what is Edited in the NEW trk
Sounds like you're looking for "edge edit copy". It's been a while since I've been in front of DP5, so I forget where it's located, is there a sequence mini-menu?

I remember the "w" modifier for temporary track grouping by thinking of "wisible" tracks.

Re: Pick-Up Measures
If you change your mind about the starting tempo, it's a bit of a headache, as you'll either have a tempo change at bar 1, or bar 1 will no longer be at the original start time. That's definitely the one sticky bit of the whole equation, especially if you want to play a couple of bars of click and ...

Re: Pick-Up Measures
Is it just the sequence you need to start sooner, or the movie too? Just thinking out loud, wondering if it's a combination of chunk/sequence start time and movie start time settings? I know I regularly create quicktime movie exports of cues with extra time on the head, and it's usually just a matte...

Hey Sprout thanks for the welcome although I'm born & raised here, one of the few .... I know. I'm a transplant from Ontario, myself, but after 18 years I feel like I've gone native! And I guess I've just noticed your Houston location more often than Vancouver. Not that I'm stalking you  ...

Re: Apple Loops don't conform to tempo on import?
Hello! I'm just attempting to work with some apple loops in the .caf format, and am curious to see if there are any updates on the situation.
Is there any way to import them into DP that preserves the tempo information?

Re: Calling all Drum Editor Problem Solvers
using the 'deflam' plug-in will solve your problem Hey Buzzy, welcome to Vancouver! I was wondering about using de-flam, but after reading about it in the manual it looked to me like it would take the notes that are close together and move all of them to the average attack time of the group, so was...

Re: Calling all Drum Editor Problem Solvers
I can't think of any clever way to automate the process, but I often find it easier to manually do this type of work in the Event List rather than a graphic editor. You could move just your bass drum notes into a new track so you're not looking at a bunch of extraneous notes you don't need to see. T...
