I agree about MIDI regions; I think they're an abysmal idea ("Hey, let's put training wheels on this Ducati!")FMiguelez wrote:Unfortunately, the very words "MIDI Regions" will resonate badly here. Some members will offer you to the gods as a sacrifice for such heresy...

Re: NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!
I understand the urge to keep this topical. That's entirely valid. I think the key point, though, is that DP10 is not yet a released product . Once it is, then I'd agree that it's time to move on and table this discussion to "unaddressed issues." But for now, some of us are attempting to f...

Re: NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!
Though I didn't entirely agree with your characterization of which mode is needed for the different workflows, I think this is a pretty practical solution. There could even be a command that accomplishes this. You make a selection and then type a key command that basically says "set automation...

Re: NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!
I think the automation issue may be harder to modify than many think. Automation seems to be time based in DP. At least that's my guess. It's not synced to the data in a track. So if you nudge a soundbite, for example, the automation doesn't automatically move with it. I would imagine this is what ...

Re: NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!
The automation ramping STILL EXISTS in DP 10. At least the versions at Namm. I tested DP 10 at NAMM...the ramping has not been fixed. I have filed reports and had great assistance with reports from our great guru Matt La Point, so I am sure they finally know about the issue. But whether they have t...

Re: Before there was DIGITAL Performer...
My first was OSC Deck (for Audio) paired with Metro (for MIDI sequencing). Metro was written by Carl Sagan's son Jeremy... the Metro update boxes always arrived in the mail smelling of cigarettes.
Deck/Metro. Together, they were the first real desktop DAW. 1990.

Re: NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!
I was about to update to Live10 , I think I'll wait to hear about you guys how this Loop window feature works. Just hope it's as easy as Live to record/process/assign. Live duties only Same here. Live is the only other DAW that I’ve kept up to date, mainly because the clip feature is such a unique ...

[Crosspost Bump+1000]. I'm still on my heavily-modded cheesegrater Mac Pro 3.5GHz 12 core which has plenty of life in it; enough to get me to the first revision of the forthcoming mac pro I hope and/or another generation into the great What'sNext. The Mojave update will require Metal-compatible GPU ...

Re: Do you recommend purchasing Hollywood Orchestra?
Also can't recommend. EastWest are miracle-makers: Never have I heard such consistent brilliance in taking huge libraries, any single note from which is jaw-droppingly gorgeous on playback, and making them speak so poorly as instruments. It's a big shiny business - value is always kinda-sorta delive...

Re: Any News From MOTU At NAMM?
Crap. I just a few days ago updated to High Sierra. Thought I'd waited long enough; NI said all clear, others as well. I don't use Vienna Ensemble generally. Were any other 3rd party plugs called out as stability problems? EDIT: found the other threads on this. VEpro and UA. Anything else a named of...

Re: String Library problem
That Memory Server was a pre-64-bit way of dealing with voice loading, etc., and it conflicts mightily with DP's own memory handling, so leaving it on causes a bunch of non-specific problems. Glad it worked! I've been tweaking Kontakt for so long I almost forgot those settings were there until I sa...

Native Instruments, Waves and a few other devs cautioned waiting on Sierra soon after it came out; all resolved?

Try refreshing the page? I initially hosted from an https but then switched to Dropbox public when I realized that didn't work. Uploaded from my desktop but I can see it on my phone so it seems to have posted..?reedster wrote:thanks, I see the word "image" but no picture.
