move a soundbyte vertically but not horizontally?

Is there a key to hold to keep a soundbyte (clip) in it's place in time when you drag it to another track? My workaround for years has been to enable the grid & set it on whole notes, but I'm sure there is an easier way. Yes I do have the +1000 page manual - just hoping someone here could tell m...

I've got similar issues - for $100 MOTU will send you a reconditioned one in exchange for your current one with a 30 day warranty I think.

Re: Latency, Direct Hardware Play through

You know... I gotta say, there's a few things I like about the PCIe based solutions. One of which is that I only recently learned that CueMix on Firewire systems can only work across ONE hardware device at once. For example you can't monitor 8 inputs on one interface and 2 on a second one at the ne...

I was hoping to see the Hobbit & Monkey Man but perhaps the mystery is better left a mystery . . .

Re: New Product: MOTU Track 16

>It is somehow funny they only included FW400 interface (although using a FW800 connector), not a FW800 interface.< I don't understand your concern. No MOTU devices are FW800. Since FW400 is forwards compatible and the bandwidth of FW800 isn't needed, it makes no sense to cripple the functionality ...

Hey I'm in Nashville (Mount Juliet) - I'm no DP ace but I've been using it since version 3 - maybe we could get together & trade tricks.

Re: New Macbook Pro

I'd like to throw out a caution - I haven't had much luck with FW800-400 adapter on my 828mkII - fortunately I have a 17" macbook pro and use an express34 card that has FW400 on it & it works great.

Re: Voiceover advice

I've been really surprised at the usefulness of Izotope RX for cleaning up dialog. There's a demo that runs un-hindered - but it was well worth the $299 for me.

Cool, Stephen! Say, 2000 was when I first got the C4, too. This whole plugin thing seemed still new then, and the things I was able to accomplish with the C4 would boggle the minds of my fellow audio engineers in Las Vegas at the time. Shooshie How did our paths not cross during this time? I was wo...

Re: Slow Down Audio & Bring Down Pitch Like In The Analog Da

While we're discussing this, have any of you ever produced the "unplugged turntable" effect, where an audio file gradually slows down and goes lower in pitch at the same time? And if so, can you do it with DP's stuff, or is there something else that makes it easier/cooler/better? The only...
