See if you might have assigned that key to a MIDI command, somehow. You can check that in the Commands window. Take a look at the thread below:

That's definitely the way to go, IMO. A lot less chance for errors. I believe this method is suggested in one of the webinars mentioned above.

I don't know about DP 11, but in DP 10 it works like the other windows when I hit "Control-1." If it's the active window, and I use that key-command, it pops out as a separate window.
