Re: MOTU 828 ORIGINAL - RECORDING PBM (ableton - soundforge)

If you want me to look over your system, I'll need the info. Open a command prompt and type this then press Enter: msinfo32 File | Save on the opened screen. Upload the saved file somewhere and paste a link here. Other than that, to record and hear at the same time, you have to set the DAW track to ...

Re: Ultralite Mk3 Not Detected by Windows 7 64 bit

I just checked my Traveler stock power supply and it's 15v set at 1 amp.

Since the unit draws 12W, MOTU gave it a slight overhead (15x1=15W).

Re: Ultralite Mk3 Not Detected by Windows 7 64 bit

If you have the means to, I would suggest making a technote over at MOTU.com and they will repair or replace the unit, at their discretion, for approximately $100 U.S. I am sure the power adapter you're currently trying to use can not supply enough power (amps). If you don't want to pay to have it f...

Re: Ultralite Mk3 Not Detected by Windows 7 64 bit

How did you update the firmware if the computer will not recognize it? If it is only working with USB and not firewire, when the machine in question is known to be working well with firewire otherwise, it could simply be that someone plugged in the firewire cable upside down and blew the firewire ch...

Re: Motu Audio Express - Problems

No problem. We'll get it fixed. Just follow what I said in the post at the end of this thread: http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=55504 If you have any .dmp files in C:\Windows\Minidump, forget the above and instead, copy the files to any other folder, then zip or rar them, the...

Re: Anyone use 896mk3 with vdrums and SD2

Oh alright, understanding slightly better now from the new info since I've last been in the thread and from now seeing a rear-view picture of the Roland. I probably won't be able to help very much, but then again, I never say never. If you're still stuck, perhaps there might be something I can sugge...

Re: Anyone use 896mk3 with vdrums and SD2

I'm slightly confused, and admittedly, probably I'm not understanding right. Isn't this TD-20x just something you program and not actually do any physical performing on? This is what is throwing me: "I do want add one more time this is only felt while playing. It is not audible latency." T...

Re: 4 Pre and 4pin firewire cable

Try a 4 pin to 4 pin firewire 400 cable. If your laptop is 6 pin, then instead, try a 6 pin to 4 pin 400 cable. Don't use any 9. In all likelihood, your laptop is 6 and 4Pre is definitely 4, so you would need this: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Firewire-Cable-4-Pin-Pin/dp/B00006GF1T ------------- Make...

Re: New drivers 4.0.5.8373, August 15, 2013

I wouldn't classify it as a lie, but it's still untrue anyhow. Windows doesn't ever need hardware removed to install a driver under any circumstance or condition. To fix your XP, all you need to do is leave the card alone and in. Then just clear out your machine (the partition or drive of XP - 7 can...

Re: New drivers 4.0.5.8373, August 15, 2013

Never a need to physically remove any card. The simple answer is that the newest drivers don't support XP. They have a separate link for their last legacy driver which does support XP. ("Older versions" link on the download page.) As for audiowire cards, on the download page it says this, ...

Re: Ultralite mk3 FW - can't update firmware

Simple mistake it seems. You say you have this: Ultralite mk3 FW only You are trying to install this firmware: 1.06 (UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid Firmware v1.06 for Windows) Hybrid means for both USB and Firewire. Just get the MK3 FW only update instead, and you'll be good to go. You'll likely have to conta...

Re: 828mkII firmware update

On the upside, if it turns out to be surely a cap issue, replacements for those are extremely cheap and they're not very difficult to install. You can do it or if you don't own a soldering iron, you probably have a friend that does. Just make sure polarity is correct when doing so. The ones in the r...

Re: Motu 2408mk3 & Presonus Firepod

I don't know if the MOTU card will accept other units, but I would guess not. MOTU's solution is called "audiowire" when their cards are in use.

If worse comes to worse, I've seen firewire 400 cards for as cheap as 4 bucks.

Re: 828mkII firmware update

Still very much think it is a cap issue, but admittedly, the likelihood went down slightly based on that pic. Those are polymer caps, but even they can and do go bad...and the board is from 2009 as you've said. If you read my post above, I too did not have any bsods other than when using the MOTU (a...

Re: Firewire problem

I'm the one that discovered MOTU stability on Windows 7, 8 with the legacy driver and publicized it, after I was having issues with pops, clicks and dropouts. Yes, it is an excellent idea and no, it is no risk whatsoever in any way at all. Go for it.
