Mark,
btw, I see you're in Atlanta. If you're still bogged down with this, send me a personal msg. and I'll send you the e-mail of a guy down there who's a *whiz* with both SVPro & DP

Re: MIDI file import
MARK, Apologies if this is a *really* stupid answer, but.... did you save the SVPro files as Standard MIDI Files, as in "Save As" Standard MIDI file? I've never seen an .smf (standard MIDI file) that DP couldn't open. It couldn't though, open SVPro files. <small>[ April 06, 2005, 06:27 PM:...

colored DP Markers?
I'm sure this may have been mentioned by others in previous "wish-lists", but wouldn't it be nice if we could have colored Markers in DP, so that; cut, fades, hits, dissolves, song structure, etc. could all have their own unique colors?

Re: Love the mouse or leave the mouse?
I haven't "conttrol surfaced" yet, but I want to agree with the folks who reccomended switching from mouse to trackball. A big, fat (8ball-sized) trackball - like my (multilple) Kensington Expert Mouse PRO(s) - is a real blessing on the wrist, hand and fingers. It's dead accurate, takes al...

Re: Symphonic Instrument by March 20th?
and this month's MIX magazine has a fullpage MOTU ad for Symphonic Instruments on the back cover. no dates indicated, but those are expensive column inches, so hopefully they're close-to/ready-to ship?

Re: downgrading back to DP 4.12, need advise?
hey guys, after retrograding from DP 4.52/MIDI 1.24/OS 10.3.8 to DP 4.5/MIDI 1.22/OS 10.3.8; two days ( 2 sessions @ 10-12 hours each) working the same file mentioned above - adding chunks, tracks, etc. - and so far *NO* MIDI hangs...not one! will drop a note if problems rear their ugly head - other...

"""samash.com says it should begin shipping by March 20th."""
they (Sam Ash) have bumped it up to April 1 shipping. Hope that's not an "April 1" joke!

Re: downgrading back to DP 4.12, need advise?
sincere thanks to you all for your reccomendations. based on those recc.s, I'm going to retrograde(RG) a step at a time...and report back the results. My benchmark file is 58 MIDI tracks, 1 stereo audio track, no (audio) plugins, 2 minutes long. File size about 3.5meg. And my starting point is DP 4....

downgrading back to DP 4.12, need advise?
H'lo all, A painful post to write. After 20+ years with MOTU Perf/DP, I've never (knock wood) had to "retrograde" to a previous version to get a (relatively) stable version to turn out music with. But, using DP 4.52 & OSX 10.3.8 for a few weeks, this "hanging MIDI notes" thin...

Re: Scoring To Picture
mhayes, in addition to the suggestions above, I'm doing pretty much what you're looking for everyday, so I'll pass along my "process". Step 1; I have to get some idea of what my start tempo will be, so I usually loop the spot in Quitcktime and use a hand-held metronome to get *some* idea. ...

Re: DP & QT movie suggestions?
many thanks, all three of you, for the quick responses. you've got me on the track to some more questions, if I may. Unfotunately (for me), I'm not in direct contact with the editors and getting BITC is most often not going to be an option. The spots (TV adverts) have already been cut and QT'ed by t...

DP & QT movie suggestions?
h'lo again , I had another frustrating session with DP (4.5.2) an a QT movie (29.97fps) yesterday an I'm wondering what systems or suggestions that you out there might have? Here's the deal; I'm running a Mac G4 DP 1.25, 2 Gig RAM, multiple 72k 120G HD's. I get a QT movie from an editor - usually 29...

DP 4.5.1 won't open / "error= -10660"?
all of a sudden, with DP 4.5.1 (3 weeks now) , whenever I double-click any DP (4.5 or 4.5.1) project to open it, I get an "error= -10660" and DP won't load. *Thankfully*, I can, however, open DP, then "open" any of those files correctly. But, if I save them, then try and re-open ...
