Re: New to MachFive3 - some thoughts / questions
Ok one more question to add onto my list ... When I add an effect onto a key group or layer , the effect only seems to last as long as the sample! Re: M5 doesn't save my reverb settings
Which reverb ? Which parameters ?
What do you mean by it doesn't apply to the snare anymore ? Are you using aux sends ?

Just use the inline browser to preview your samples in that case.
On the left panel, the Tab called Browser.

Re: MachFive 3 on a MacBook Air and other questions . . .
If you're fine with M5v2 CPU wise, you should be fine with M5v3Apeman wrote:Thanks Hugy,
I'll be running MachFive 3 live . . . .triggering samples (lots) so I probably won't be running the CPU intensive stuff, (IR reverb and new synthesis?) Any other CPU intensive aspects?
Thanks,
Tony

Re: MachFive 3 on a MacBook Air and other questions . . .
1) by not using those. Actually what did you had in mind ? 2) When saving programs, it's relative path. so iif you do your custom presets it should work fine and the missing sample dialog works way better. 3) Yep. M5v3 performs better than v2 AFAIK 4) I think so and most people on this forum as well...

Re: destructive crop?
did you check the top left right corner of the oscillator panel in M5 ?
There is some options to save as a sample as far as I remember.
or just move the start/stop cursor and do not crop the sample.

Re: Mach Five and Electric Keys
Easy
Leave ekEys sounds in
C:\Program Files\MOTU\ElectricKeys\Sounds.
so eKeys founds those.
and add this folder in MachFive soundbank preferences panel (from the main menu) so M5 mounts those automatically.

Re: Trigger Off V and Off V+E
V use the release velocity which is 0 on most keyboard so Off + E might be your best choice.
use Off + E with the decay time for the max time to hear the release sample then use the release time to hear the actual release sound

Re: Stepline Event Processor
Put each Keygroup in a dedicated Layer then put the stepline processor on the Layer level in the Event tab. You can then restrict the Layer range according to the Keygroup range in the Tree view A dedicated drum step sequencer scripts would be better suited though. I've done one some time ago, very ...

@ hugy The step are very clear if you are in Tree mode. You just keep on right clicking and follow the path. Louis I see. Does it happen as well, if you right click on the mapping and use create new keygroup ? and use the + in the oscillator editor to add an osc ? (doing everything without using th...
