Topic: Why I switched to Logic after using DP for 15 years

personally I don't feel that hindered by learning more than one DAW, and see no problem in owning and using DP, Logic, Live, Pro Tools etc. I started on DP, and got ticked off at 2.7.2, switched to Logic, and got fed up with Logic's bugs in 7. Meanwhile I've been using Live, and DP is just in many w...

Now my info is secondhand BUT, I was told by a friend that MOTU told him the quad would not give any significant boost over a similar dual. I ahvent verified this myself. MOTU tech has given me incorrect info in the past so I dunno.... Their was/is a thread here of a DP user with a Quad that said h...

OK, after years of having Logic trounce DP in benchmark tests, this is probably the first time in a long time that DP is on top ( on the quad anyway ), and I'm really curious as to whether it's true? All that would have to be done is for somebody to load instances of a nice CPU pig freeware like Cry...

I haven't heard any news about 7.2, which isn't really a good sign for any improvement, no promise of quad support in the feature set of 7.2.
if DP can read all four processors, then I think as of now it's the only one, and it's sort of odd that they aren't bragging a bit about it?

G5 quad VS G5 dual anyone?

Hey, I'm really curious about DP on the quad machine? Results with Logic showed that unless you tricked the machine into thinking you were using two of the processors by instantiating a Logic node on the same machine and directing Logic to the node, you weren't able to use all four processors. Repor...

Logic... Apple makes the hardware, the OS, and the app... I think there's a reason for how optimized it is don't you think? Actually Logic was always more optimized than DP, or Cubase PC or mac, or Cakewalk Sonar. Apple bought the leanest audio engine out there, and people consistently claim it's b...

Re: DP instead of Peak/DSP Quattro

Thanks for all the replies. I'm of course now more confused about what to do than before. I played around with DP in the store, and was happy with it's responsiveness, they just happen to have the same dual Gig G4 I do. Performance was what I expected, 20% better than Live 5, 20% worse than Logic 7....
