Re: Custom consoles--->DP, not session

please post a screen shot of your typical console. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/35773138/Consoleprobs.tiff Aalto was reinstantiated in its original position (from which its console was created), thus is active. Others (generated in Absynth and Alchemy) are currently empty instrument slots. M...

Re: Custom consoles--->DP, not session

Can you create the instrument along with the console and assignments in a VRack, and put that in a project that you load (as a sequence). You might have to then move the tracks from the VRack into the main sequence. Would the assignments survive those process? I share the frustration. I spent ages ...

Re: Custom consoles--->DP, not session

Did you try Set Target from Console's mini menu? Yes. If the instrument is not in exactly the same slot in the same session as when the console was created, invoking Set Target wipes out all the targets in the Consoles window, i.e. they become blank and unresponsive to the control surface. My brain...

Re: Custom consoles--->DP, not session

Ok. This still may not be capable of doing what I'd want (and what I'd think most users would want). I don't see a way to effectively permanently assign a console to an instrument once created. Delete an instrument and reinstantiate it on another track, or move it, and controls lose their targets, w...

Re: Custom consoles--->DP, not session

Worked a charm! Thanks Bayswater. In 17 years of using DP I've never, ever invoked that load menu if you can believe it. I always thought it was simply a 'legacy' way of doing things for those who preferred menu-driven loading, and never knew it had unique functionalities. Or maybe I once knew and h...

Maybe... Which list of things are you referring to, and where can I find it?

Custom consoles--->DP, not session

That little MIDI learn button in the bottom left since DP9, which creates custom consoles for all your synths and control surfaces, is in theory spectacular. The downfall of this otherwise supremely powerful feature is that the consoles you generate and save in a session do not appear to be generali...

Re: NAMM 2017 DP New Features Video (Partial)

Ok so, regarding the other thread, if this video is inclusive, it looks like polyphonic pitch editing a la melodyne is not in fact in the works. That would have been very surprising had it been.

Re: DP NAMM 2017

Awesome news. No more reliance on big fat buffered transfers in Melodyne.
I wasn't expecting this, I have to say, if for no other reason than that I assume Peter Neubäcker's polyphonic melodyne tech is patented. Another way around the mountain?

Re: New Fender 50's/60's amps for AmpliTube from IK Multimed

Was never a fan of Amplitube up to and including 4. I could always tell it was Amplitube; had characteristics I found samey across all the models. With this collection, IK is back in the game. These latest Fender models sound great to me, quite different from what they've done previously. Hard to sa...

Re: New SSD....boot drive or VI drive?

But Mike, if I recall correctly in our discussion about the value of parallelism for a DAW CPU you said you weren't a huge VI guy. As one who is, I can tell you that it made a world of difference, i.e. templates that simply were non-operable in real time, sessions that required multiple bounces befo...

Re: New SSD....boot drive or VI drive?

I don't want to exactly disagree with Mike & HC, but, just to make sure the point is sharp: If the question is which would, as you put it, "make my DP system run most efficiently" and, if what you mean by that is which would make your DP sessions most efficient, the answer is definitel...

Re: MODO Bass

Hmmm.... perhaps it's just me but this MODO bass doesn't seem that groundbreaking to me - I have had Propellerhead Reason Bass Refill for several years and I find it brilliant I think you're kind of missing the point a bit. The reason refill is sample based. It's 3.45GB in size. If you do any sort ...

Re: MODO Bass

This VI is amazing. Absolutely nails the sound, and I've played all of those model bases - the character really comes through. It's spectacular. And on my laptop, the whole disk real estate commitment for electric basses has gone from gigabytes to a few hundred megabytes, while sounding at least as ...
