If you had $5,000 ...

Gents - I have DP4 on a G4 and it's upgrade time. I think I can get $5,000 for selling my piano :) :( I would love to hear your suggestions on how to spend it, considering the following requirements: I want some sort of used Mac Pro, the latest DP, MachFive 3, good piano sample(s), basic orchestra s...

Re: Dual Core or Quad - G5

I just bought a Mac Pro 8 Core and guess why? I cannot load more than a few instruments w/o problems on the G5. Plogue Bidule (about $75) was a great stop gap but even there, the VIs have become CPU intensive and I can still only load about a dozen on the G5. Another stop gap was to go back to my e...

Re: Dual Core or Quad - G5

I'd say get the fastest machine you can afford - maybe a little more than you can afford. G5s are kind of sluggish and even a low level Mac Pro can be had these days for not too much money. Not too much money is a relative thing ... I notice that you have a dual G5, using both DP and Mach5. What is...

Dual Core or Quad - G5

Mac G4 - DP 4.12

I was thinking of getting a used G5 to use with the newest DP and also Mach5. I'd like to hear recommendations of whether to get the quad core or is a dual fast enough to handle these 2 apps.

Thanks

Re: A Few Questions

I see adolescent intervention may be called for. LOL! Selecting the track name doesn't change the time selected. If no time is selected, nothing will be highlighted in the track(s) selected. If a time selection is made, then any track name clicked on should add the selection while holding the shift...

Re: A Few Questions

Did you select an Aux stereo track by mistake? There is no record on those tracks. No, a stereo audio track. Checking it now I can't get ANY new audio track to record enable. The ones I did yesterday continue to work fine. I'm using the same bundles as before. For example, I set it to 'none' and th...

Re: A Few Questions

Also, DP 4.12 was not the best 4x version. You should at least update to 4.61, but ideally go for DP7! DP7's manual is even bigger! You'll love it  I was waiting for this suggestion to surface. :D I'd love to but I'm rather poor at the moment. And I don't use DP all that much, obviously.

A Few Questions

Hi all - DP 4.12 I'm trying to bounce to disk and I have a few questions. First, in order to bounce I must select the tracks, but clicking on the track name does not always select any of the soundbites. Therefore 'bounce to disk' is greyed out. Yet sometimes the soundbites are selected and I don't k...
