Re: Run 32-bit plugs in 64-bit DP
Thanks SixStringGeek. I checked out jbridge and it is so worth the $13. I won't go into details, but more info on "why" can be found here: http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=434064#p434064 My hope is that once the paid version arrives, patches from the DP projects will be sav...

Re: what's going to work with dp 8 what's not?
jeez I don't know if the Kore player got updated? NI have pulled boners like that in the past. I would check the info button next to the download button on their site, If it doesn't say it was updated for 64 bit compatibility then it wasn't, as 64 bit was their last update before stopping developme...

Re: what's going to work with dp 8 what's not?
Kore 2 was updated almost a year ago to 64 bit compatibility. Go grab the update and check your other plug ins for updates! all the kids are doing it now! That's great news Michael, thanks! I presume they also updated the Free Kore Player to 64-bit as well. That's what I'm downloading right ...

Re: Run 32-bit plugs in 64-bit DP
When you started those projects did you think you wouldn't be able to finish them without a 64-bit version of DP? I mean you can still work on the projects at least. To honestly answer that question, when I bought this Intel Mac I totally believed I was going to have plenty of headroom. But almost ...

Re: what's going to work with dp 8 what's not?
Oh oh... another one... I decided to work on one of my projects tonight that utilizes fabulous Sitar instrument I am using is from a NI Kore Library that I purchased a few years ago. North India , I think it is called. Kore 2 is a 32-bit application/plugin and I believe NI discontinued it, if I am n...

Re: Run 32-bit plugs in 64-bit DP
But you can still just open those files in DP8 in 32-bit mode with one click. (Right click DP...get info...check open in 32-bit mode). All your older plugs will be there. Save your settings with those older plugs. Delete the plugs you don't need. All those things you mentioned. Then close...and reo...

Re: Run 32-bit plugs in 64-bit DP
But I think that's the mark of a mature manufacturer, not just changing things on a whim, but making absolutely sure that users' old work remains unchanged. I agree fully. But this is where the absence of a 32-bit bridge really baffles me. I now have hundreds of works and ideas in progress which ca...

Re: It's the little things in DP 8
Now when you zoom in the pitch layer, you get black and white piano keys instead of grey ones. :) Very cool little detail. I like it! I've tried to edit a theme so as to fix the items that are too low contrast for me, with varying results. Happens, the one thing I couldn't fix were those very eleme...

Re: Run 32-bit plugs in 64-bit DP
...I definitely here a difference in the sound when in 64 bit. I am a skeptical of this claim, and wonder if you are hearing a difference simply because you expect 64-bit to sound better. I doubt that it actually sounds better... but I would be happy to be wrong. If there is ever a solid bridge sol...

Re: Those who got DP8.. please let us know.
So, make sure your PACE software is up-to-date BEFORE you install DP8, and you won't have that headache. You're welcome. Added to my notes. It is second on my list of DP8 installation procedures--right after "Upgrade OS to 10.6.8". I am still happily running 10.6.7, but hopefully the OS u...

Re: what's going to work with dp 8 what's not?
Abbey Road Plugins responded to my e-mail stating a commitment to releasing a 64-bit version of their plugins and the resolution of a minor issue which I had mentioned. No promise on the release date, but from their responsiveness I suspect that the plugins won't be too far behind.

Re: Confused about 64 bit mac and DP8
Honestly I don't think IK or UA or any developer are going to release their plugs or VI's any sooner because you or me call or write emails. Nothing wrong with a little nudge and some feature requests thrown in at the same time. It's kind of like voting. If you won't take the time to go out and vot...
