Re: So many audio dropouts...

I'd be willing to be the problem is DP 9.1 and not your audio driver. I'd suggest trying 9.02 and see how you fare. The new Pre-Gen system in 9.1 has been terribly problematic.

Re: Fuggit. I'm going for 9.12

I would just like to work and not be a partner in software-development. Might be the best quote about this subject, ever. I decided to give 9.12 another go, thinking that the new os, fresh prefs, yada yada would make things honky dory. Not the case. More dropouts, higher CPU usage, not being able t...

Re: Should i update to 9.12

No. Not yet. There's some major issues that were introduced in 9.1 and not fixed yet.

Re: AMPGUI mods in DP 9.12

Hey guys. This has been in the back of my mind for a while now. I really need to dive in and make everything right again. I'll have to have a separate install of 9.12 running because I do not trust it for actual work yet. On vacation now, but will dive in when I get back. The big problem I see now i...

Re: DP 9.12 out now.

having to select pre-gen status for every single damn plug-in individually is nonsense. A huge step backwards from the option we had previously. Even then, the previous pre-gen engine didn't have the crazy issues that exist now. Someone seriously screwed the pooch.

So to be clear, the issues I had still exist in 9.12, correct?

Re: DP 9.12 out now.

Still never upgrading to this version until I have the ability to completely disable the Pre-Gen engine, and can be sure I won't get audio dropouts while editing and random audio glitches when BTD or merging soundbites. Don't have time for that crap.

Re: DP 9.12 out now.

Not coming within a mile of this update till I hear that all the playback/pre-gen/pops and clicks on merging and BTD/audio dropouts while editing bugs are gone.

Re: What happened to "run-in-real-time plug-in preference???

I ran back to 9.02 as fast as possible because of all the changes made to the pre-rendering system in 9.1. Rather than just make it work better, they almost completely did away with our ability to choose whether or not to use it. Unless I'm programming I don't want it, and even then the whole track ...

Re: DP 9.1 is here

Oh thank you for that suggestion. I ran Disk Warrior on my system drive, ran Onyx, re-installed 9.02, and all is right with the world again. I really hope they get that stuff ironed out, it's a soul-destroyer.

Re: DP 9.1 is here

Okay, I'm getting seriously pissed now. Something very bad has happened to the track buffering system. Making edits on the fly makes audio drop out, and now when I edit then consolidate tracks it's introducing all kinds of thumps, clicks, and pops. Whatever they did to the Pre-Gen engine is screwing...

Re: DP 9.1 is here

Yeah buffering audio has been slowed waaaaaay down for some reason. When I do an edit in RX and have it overwrite the original audio it takes DP *forever* to figure it out. Also, clicking and holding on a soundbite doesn't work right anymore, and neither does double-clicking a soundbite and highligh...

Re: DP 9.1 is here

Track buffering seems to have changed drastically, as well. Tracks are dropping out all the time now while being edited whereas they didn't before. Very, very, annoying.

Re: DP 9.1 is here

We've lost the ability to disable Pre-Gen if so desired. This is now driving me nuts when editing vocals, as the track drops out instead of continuously playing. The Pre-Gen is great for just about everything else, except when doing intensive editing. Need this option back.

Re: DP 9.1 is here

Holy crap, the responsiveness of DP is unbelievable now. I've never seen it react so quickly to every little move. Whatever they did to the Pre-Gen engine is genius, makes me feel like I'm working from an SSD drive when I'm not. So glad they have gotten the code up to speed to utilize all this great...
