Suggestions for a good auto-filter plugin

From time-to-time, I use auto-filter plugins to make moving sound effects. MOTU's Multi-mode filter is a start, but I would like something with a little more control over filter shape and timbre. I've been trying a number of freebies out there, but they tend to be a little wonky. Any recommendations?

Re: Output Markers to Text File?

Wow, I didn't realize you could print the markers tab (to anything, let alone a PDF). I went the long way around, taking screenshots, then running it through an OCR generator online. I pulled it into BBEdit and used RegEx to make the corrections I needed... it was a process. But there were over 300+...

Output Markers to Text File?

Curious question, is there ANY way I could output marker timecodes to a text file? I'm evaluating a field recording that needs spot edits. I've just been listening through and hitting Ctl-M to jot down points. At the end I'd like to send the timecodes off to an employee.

Disabling plugins with lookahead buffers?

This one's always been a problem for me. I often stick an Waves L3 on the master bus. But it has that builtin 70ms lookahead buffer, and that doesn't go away when you disable it. I always have to delete the plugin if I need to go back and do more tracking or any editing where the delay would be a pr...

MOTUNation is one of DPs top features

I'm in and out of a number of different online communities, and have many actual friends who are sometimes in the market for a DAW. These days, I think most DAWs can get the job done, and I'm hesitant to go out on a limb and say "DP is the best, you need DP", I'm too old for that kinda tal...

Re: Recommendations on a multi-delay plugin

DPs delays are good but both (Echo and Delay) are limited. Echo has no stereo control: what goes in comes out with no stereo repositioning. It's like SuperTap without panning controls. Delay is more like a twin delay pedal: it's dual-mono with X-feed. Neither one is particularly great for my needs. ...

Re: Recommendations on a multi-delay plugin

Yeah, the one thing I notice is that most of these have a universal feedback interval. You can specify initial delay time, but all delays subsiquently get repeated by a global time. I'd be more interested in just a set of parallel delays that feedback by their own delay time, maybe with some X-Feedb...

Recommendations on a multi-delay plugin

I have use for a versatile delay plugin where I can create many discrete delay lines at different intervals. I often have need for modeling outdoor environments, and would like to algorithmically model things like canyons and hillsides, which typically have a number of individual reflections. I was ...

Re: Live Streaming: The Bad, the Ugly, and the Worst!

I've gotten JamKazam to work a few times, but it is janky. I'm on fiber, but I was trying to jam with an old bandmate up in Alaska and they're still stone-age up there. It sounds good on my end, but I can tell there's a slight delay. When he leads and I follow it's okay, but I lead, I can feel the t...

Easy, record the guitar upside-down, so the waveforms cancel out, right?

Re: I may have to upgrade to Catalina

I'll take a good look, and I have no slight against his methods. But the cute "Apple Core Rot" and "Catalina is a POS", understandably give me pause. I don't think that's an unreasonable reaction in the age of the troll soundbite.

Re: I may have to upgrade to Catalina

Ummm... not that he's wrong, but that kind of criticism wreaks of "old man yells at cloud". Not a great way of getting your point across by slinging names with low-hanging fruit (pun intended). That said, he might not be wrong.

Re: I may have to upgrade to Catalina

Yeah, it's been the bane of my existence for the past month. It used to be faster. I have 1Gb/300Mb internet here, but for some reason, it speed tests no higher than 10Mb to their HQ, so it's become a real problem. I've talked with their tech support but they haven't offered any solutions. I've even...

Re: MOTU M2/4

Is it weird that I sort of miss CueMix... but not really?

Like, I'm sure after 5 minutes, I would hate it again. But I do wish their were more routing and monitoring options, which would be easy with software. But if I had to use software, I would probably cry.
