Re: OS 10.9.2 Altered MOTU Audio Setup

My Ultralite Mk 3 is fine, but my original Traveler acts like the above examples.

Re: DP 8 Not show video

yes I wonder if you have an older machine? I have never been able to use video with DP8 (any version) on my old MacBook Pro - see this thread - it just does not display properly….

Re: DP 7 Tuner not working.

Um, under the Studio menu, how is the Audio Patch Thu option set? Try setting it to Auto, and once again, make sure Input Monitoring Mode is set to Monitor record-enabled tracks through effects.

Cheers!

Re: What reverbs do you like to use with DP?

...I'm hardly ever looking for realism with my treatments, so I rarely use convolution for any natural-sounding spaces. ... Thanks for explaining that, Stephen. I think though the difference between convolution & hardware reverb isn't that simple. First of all, one can find/create IRs of any of...

Re: What reverbs do you like to use with DP?

I haven't seen anyone mention Native Instruments Reverb Classics. The RC24 and RC48 are modelled on the Lex 224x and 480 units and were developed by SofTube. The Lex 224x has always been my favourite hardware unit, so I am really happy with these, I think the modelling is superb. I'm hardly ever loo...

Re: automation of plug-in presets

I would personally just record to another track, stop, change preset, drop in, carry on.

New audio can be crossfaded to prevent any clicks or sudden changes, and you can always go back and modify later….

Cheers!

Re: DP8 or Final Cut ProX

I must admit that the learning curve was quite steep with FCPX, completely different to FCP 7. The way the timeline works bears little relation to the old way, but once I got used to it I like it a lot. I still do use FCP7 for a couple of things that the X version doesn't do. For my visuals I tend t...

Re: DP8 or Final Cut ProX

FCPX is brilliant, can't recommend it enough - and since I installed Mavericks it is running even more smoothly. I've been working on it since the beginning of the year for concert visuals and I am amazed at what can be done. Well worth it, especially compared to what previous versions of FCP cost, ...

hold the N key down while starting ProTools - it should then take you to the audio interface options page where you can select Ultralite.

Re: External FW HD failed. How to connect to computer.

Check this out - I picked up one of these so I could easily access the old drives I pulled out of the Mac when I upgraded to larger drives. Very handy, and especially fast when connected through eSATA. Useful for archiving. http://www.dynamode.com/english/pages/product/Datacom%20Products/Docking%20S...

Re: Digital Dirt Sound ONLY When DP is Open

What about MIDI connections? I recently had noise appear on outputs of a a Roland Piano I had plugged into the UltraLite, but the noise was only present when I either had a MIDI cable connected to the Ultralite, or a USB cable (from keyboard) connected to my Mac. I didn't find the solution, as it wa...
