Re: MOTU DP 10 Webinars

MOTU - What gives? Why aren't you posting the webinars? I can't attend in realtime. Even if I could I would still want to download them as reference training materials. The ones you've posted are great. PLEASE post the webinars! Thanks:) The webinars are on at around 2.30AM for me so I haven’t been...

Yes, of course. You are the Maestro of the Silents! Nice to have a few choices for practice that have dialog and SFX to get in the way of. :)

Re: Key Switching VS other methods for changing articulation

FYI CineSamples' instruments default to non-KS articulation changes. They instead use CC64 and velocities to access short and long articulations. FWIW Articulation-handling is definitely on MOTU's radar. There's been enough vague commentary from beta testers during the webinars on the subject that ...

Re: Webinar videos

MOTU are so ridiculously slow posting them...we are months behind. They clearly couldn't care less about non-Nth American customers. Ive emailed and asked if they could either be a little more timely in their postings, or perhaps consider an alternate time that is not the middle of the night in Aust...

Re: Video for Scoring Practice

I teach film scoring, there's a few good films with either no music or very little music so you can add some. Castaway (very little music) Duel (Spielberg, 1972?, there's maybe one piece of music) Kiss or Kill (Australian film) Patton (very little music) Interiors (no music) Portrait of a Lady on Fi...

Re: Mavericks to Catalina? ... I chickened out!

So my studio computer is still Mavericks, and I'm with you in not really wanting to upgrade it..I just know it will not go smoothly and will likely be 3+ days of hell. I have an old MacBook Air that I was recently given at home so I thought I may as well install Mojave on it. I have DP and Sibelius ...

Re: Garrick Ohlsson on how to practice 26 min.

Thanks for the link to the video Mike. I enjoyed it a lot, and I was really interested that his first few minutes was spent on something I try to get into my students...practice what you can’t do, not what you can. Seems simple but is often a revelation. I have a couple of other places I like to go ...

Re: Garbled MIDI with drag and drop from EZK and EZD2

Not really. Dragging from EZDrummer etc also brings in (from memory) time signature information which shows up in the conductor track...is it possible this could be affecting things? It’s a PITA to have to keep cleaning these things out..

Re: MOTU DP 10 Webinars

I can confirm it’s the editing that is taking up time, but we should start seeing them in the next few days.

Don’t know why they need editing but I guess since it’s going out on a more public page rather than invite only MOTU would like them to look as slick as possible.

Re: MOTU DP 10 Webinars

Disappointing that it’s taking so long for them to be posted. The live presentation is the middle of the night here, so no option to watch then. I don’t want to go over the top, yes it’s something being offered that wasn’t there before and we all survived, but it’s just US-centric. (Don’t get upset ...

Re: New Mac Pro 2019! So far so good.

Thanks for the info. Here in Oztralia the base model starts at $10K due to our great ‘Pacific Peso’. It’s pretty easy to convince myself that over the lifetime of using it I would more than make that back in time savings and whatnot. Unfortunately I’m not the one that needs to be convinced...

Re: DP 10.1 out

Not at my computer today, but would it help if you had the grid snap setting on its highest value? Could help to constrain sideways movement when dragging notes between tracks in the SE. (I agree that the old behaviour would be the ideal solution!) *** Dragging MIDI between tracks in Tracks Window w...

Have one open, then double click on the other one you want to open in the Chunks list. Only one is active though.
