Re: NAMM 2017 DP New Features Video

You can change the colour to suit the theme but you can't make it bigger than a small square - but it's better than a v. Do the two icon sets, kPerf7IconSetID_PictID and kPerf7IconSetID_PictID@2x have to be edited too? Because they contain the "V" icons and some others as well. Or is it j...

Re: NAMM 2017 DP New Features Video

Wait. You guys are hacking the dp source code? No way I'm doing that. But I would totally buy a skin that made the velocity points easier to see. Not the source code. Just the graphic resources. It's actually very easy to do. You open a png file in Photoshop or whichever app you like, and change th...

Re: NAMM 2017 DP New Features Video

And what's R*****? R•••••? Is there a reason why you dare not spell the name? [EDIT] Ha! I just found out that forum's code prohibits spelling R•••••. Weird. Long story. I chose to block the spelling of that particular DAW as I felt they were essentially gaining market share years ago by "dump...

Thanks. I've tried a few of my own resource mods and haven't found a solution I like yet. I hope MOTU update this, as it's more than obvious it needs to be.

But I may try and modify it again.

Thanks.

Re: NAMM 2017 DP New Features Video

1) Larger Velocity On points (the red Vs) in the MIDI window"s Median strip, (and something for the Sequence window too). Changing the color of the On Velocites to a bright yellow helped a bit. Perhaps velocity handles like R••••• has, or something similar to Logic. This has bugged me for so l...

Re: NAMM 2017 DP New Features Video

James - Were there any presentations, or did you find anything out about upcoming MIDI editing changes or improvements? Modern monitor resolutions and sizes have really made it tough to see some of the early Performer GUI elements. Just to mention a few I'm hoping to see: 1) Larger Velocity On point...

Re: Notation editor, will is ever be able to zoom verticalit

1) Studio One 3 (Presonus) now owns Notion 6 and Notion iOS which is being integrated into Studio One. Btw, Notion is nothing to sneeze at (it's every bit as good as Staff Pad on the Window's Surface device. It's much more powerful than most people give it credit for. I use it on my iPad Pro with a...

Re: Notation editor, will is ever be able to zoom verticalit

File this under ridiculous user tips: Go to the Page Setup... and create a custom page size. Under Paper Size, choose "Manage Custom Sizes". In the left box, click the + below and create a new paper size. Now you can define this as something crazy like 60" wide. I made a 50" wid...

Re: QuickScribe for Dummies questions

2. There are MIDI notes that were played to trigger different articulations in the violin VI I used. These notes are way down at the very bottom of the keyboard. How do I "erase" them from the Quickscribe editor? Thanks in advance! Quickscrbe IS a bit of a mystery sometimes isn't it? The ...

Re: Notation editor, will is ever be able to zoom verticalit

Unless I did something wrong, I was unable to get more than one track to show up in the Notation Editor the other day. My primary purpose of such a screen-wasteful feature would be to compare harmonic elements between parts, as there isn't enough context in page-based layouts like QuickScribe. Wast...

Re: RAID for Sessions/VI Library

A word on Apple's RAID driver. It's old and it's single threaded. SoftRAID is multithreaded and has some great features. It's an improvement over Apple's RAID driver, except for one thing. As of v5.5 on 10.11.6 SoftRAID was crashing my Mac Pro on shut down. I finally had to remove it. I'll check it ...

Re: East/West collaborates with Fishman for guitar-triggered

I have a Fishman Tripleplay system and generally have no troubles with Kontakt libraries and other synths. Granted I've been playing a long time and have excellent touch with my fretting hand but I was able to play libraries without trouble from day one. I can think of a couple of ways that librarie...

Notation editor, will is ever be able to zoom verticality?

I've always liked the Notation editor. It's very unique in that it's actually a MIDI roll editor with staves for a skin. Very easy and fast to work in. However, with monitors and resolution getting larger, and the Notation editor not able to zoom verticality it hurts my eyes to even try to use it. D...

Re: How-To video: Connecting VEPro to DP8 (48 MIDI ports)

Actually [with a slightly sheepish tone], I mostly answered my question by watching the Audiobro videos one more time; the ARC takes MIDI from one port and routes it as it needs to to the other ports. STILL...my question about Kontakt remains: Can we use Kontakt's multiple ports while it's instanti...
