Re: Anyone familiar the Schillinger System of Musical Compos
Well having just read a few chapters in Book One concerning the theory of Rhythm I must confess it does require some stretching of the mind to get around some of the concepts and ideas presented. But hey I'm now juggling with new concepts such as Rhythm series such as 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, 6/6, 7/7 - I'd n...

Re: Major OSX 10.6.5 Bug Workaround (was: Selection Problem…
Installed DP7.2.4 and it makes no difference. The problem is still there. I wish there was a way to get back to Mac OS 10.6.1, the version I have on the DVD's which came with the machine without having to go through all the software authorization and configuration hassles.

Re: Major OSX 10.6.5 Bug Workaround (was: Selection Problem…
My specific problems with the combination of DP 7.2.3 and Mac OS 10.6.8 is that the graphic response to a few specific "selection commands" performed with the mouse are not properly executed. For instance selecting a track color from the colors palette is unresponsive, the cursor simply di...

Re: Major OSX 10.6.5 Bug Workaround (was: Selection Problem…
I wish to reinstall an older version of Mac OS X (SL) on my hard drive; unfortunately when I attempt to do so the following message appears: "Mac OS X Update can't be installed on this disk. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.6.4 or earlier." Mac OS X 10.6.8 is presently on my drive ...

Re: Anyone familiar the Schillinger System of Musical Compos
Just thought I'd let everyone know that my copies of the Schillinger books have arrived. I've been awake most of the night leafing through them and trying to figure out a method of how to tackle these 1600 pages of text. It'll keep me very busy for the coming months if not years; it looks very promi...

Re: Anyone familiar the Schillinger System of Musical Compos
Wow thanks for all the reactions! It is true that this text is a bit obscure, shadowed by many other well known theoretical works. The main difference with most other competent books is that Schillinger brings us a new view about the functionality of music theory and the various ways it can be put t...

Anyone familiar the Schillinger System of Musical Compositio
Hello everybody, Recently I had an opportunity to visit the National Library in Paris France and had a chance to browse through a copy of the Schillinger System of Musical Composition ©1941. A very thorough piece of work, covering many facets of the process of writing music. Lots of famous and not s...

Re: How do I get MIDI to sound when DP is in stationary mode
Stephen, thanks for your reply! That was a quick one! But even before having read your message I'd found the lil' blue button with speaker icon on the Control Bar, and presto... Omnisphere and my old Proteus 2000 are pumping audio waves again. I was going to update my previous post because...

How do I get MIDI to sound when DP is in stationary mode?
Hello, My memory has failed me that's why I need to post this question. When in the Sequence editor surveying a MIDI track which has notes in it I can't get any sound from my instrument while clicking on any specific note. In playback mode I get to hear everything (all MIDI notes) perfectly. As soon...

Re: "Add Track" sub-menu lost its content in DP 7.23
666,
Weird to say the least. At a last attempt two minutes ago - it worked!
All's good and fine I guess. I'll try out a few other files tomorrow - it looks promising!
Thanks, Alix

"Add Track" sub-menu lost its content in DP 7.23
Hello everyone! Has anyone perhaps noticed that in DP7.23 in the Project Menu the "Add Track" has lost its sub-menu; at least in my version of version 7.23 which I downloaded and installed today. I have no more access to my virtual instruments from this menu; luckily I happen to remember w...

Indeed I believe one has to be logged in in order to access these pages, I'm not certain but it does make sense. To be logged in one needs to sign up and agree to a list of conditions (the usual blablah) a bit like every other forum. Sometime soon, as soon as I've gathered my nerves or numbed them s...
