Hmmmmm. Just thinking:
Alti 7's "Drag and Drop" IR creation possibly equals using EastWest library and using the hall mics with each section/instrument to create matching IR's to use with other dry libraries and have the reverb match without having to buy QL Spaces?

Re: EWQLSO Gold installation woes...
John, First, GO SPITFIRES. I am on the road on my iPhone, so this is by no means the definitive answer, but I have read Soundsonline Posts regarding Kompakt/Kontakt versions of EWSO. I wonder if Kompakt will run under your OS. Have you tried opening the library in Kontakt? That might be where the pr...

Re: DP 6 Is Sequence Jumping
Look in your audio files folder in the project folder for your sax solo. It might be there. If so, import into the project. As for your DP troubles, move to 7. Its a great version, many say the most stable yet. I had plenty of problems with DP 6, although some users seemed to get it working ok. Best.

Re: Orchestra Templates
Michael, Studio 651 makes some great points. I think the VSL as "horse to bet on" is perfect. Its going to be around for a long while and is always being updated. Epic Orch: it comes with VEPRO as a freebie, to entice you into the world of VSL (and what a world it is, albeit very pricey). ...

Re: Orchestra Templates
I just PM'd you..... VEPRO: without a doubt the best solution. I run it on my DAW machine and a Slave. Can't say enough about it. Some of the nomenclature gets a bit tricky to digest (VI Frames, MetaFrames, decoupled mode) but I'd be happy to send you a quick "how-to" right outta the box l...

Re: Finale 2012 is out. $120 upgrade
Frodo, I would love to see these few enhancements to QS to make it even stronger. I use it all the time when I am writing, and its so important to the way I work; if it got better, that would be fantastic! As for combining the power of a notation program like Finale, and DP, I can dream right? :D It...

Re: Finale 2012 is out. $120 upgrade
But basically, QS is nice for doing lead sheets and pretty elementary stuff. I just wish MOTU would kick it up a couple of notches Absolutely, that would be great. I know it must be quite difficult to do so. I never had any experience with Mosaic. I have often wondered what it would be like if you ...

Re: Access more than 16 MIDI channels per plugin
This is a limitation of the AU spec, which only allows 16 MIDI chns./instance of VEPro. BUT I have heard that the next version of VEPro will circumvent this. So for now you have to use multiple instances to get more than 16 chns.
Best.
Best.

Re: Finale 2012 is out. $120 upgrade
Frodo: on 2011 I have had great luck with retranscribe, especially when I use PPQ Res values rather then rely on Finale's. IE Quarter note triplet's = 320, Eighth note triplets = 160. FMiguelez: (sorry about not typing your full name before but I was typing on my iPhone). Rhythmic Groupings: you are...

Re: Finale 2012 is out. $120 upgrade
Frodo/FMig: Thought I would chime in on your Finale/DP discussion. One importing trick I figured out on my last orchestral score was "retranscribe." Comes in handy when you have different durations to deal with. Just select the section that's incorrect, change the duration in "quantiz...

Re: MIDI options for Digital Performer and VE Pro
I'm not in my studio at the moment, so I have to open VEPro up in order to check this out, but I am still confused as to where MOL comes into play on your sequencer computer. If VEPro is running on the seq machine, all things MIDI will publish directly to DP. You are constrained by the 16 channels p...

Re: MIDI options for Digital Performer and VE Pro
Hey. Not sure why you would use MIDI over LAN with VE Pro. Sort of defeats the purpose, since it's designed to send everything over an ethernet cable. Only reason I can think that this is the case here is that you are splitting audio/MIDI between two machines? Why are you sending the audio to anothe...

What are your system specs?
Are you running VEPro on the same machine as DP?
Ram?
Are you running VEPro in coupled or decoupled mode?
I would recommend decoupled....

Re: Tascam FW 1082
Wondering if anyone can offer some assistance/insight for the Tascam FW 1082 audio interface/control surface 1) Am I correct in stating that the most current driver (1.6) does NOT include a native DP driver? 2) If I am correct, is Mackie Control the best emulation? 3) how does one move faders in/out...
