Re: Tips: Lexicon 480

That always bothers me too. And the $199 is for the Lite version, whatever that means. Still, I'm going to download the demo and check it out.

-or you could place all the soundbites on an audio track, highlight them all and normalize in one shot.... unless I'm misunderstanding something, I didn't read all the responses.

Re: best choice for home mastering in DP...

Checked it out.... I'd say with 2 minutes I felt this is a very good product.
I think of it as a 20,000 band limiter/compressor, I don't know how many points of the spectrum it actually analyzes, could be 20k... sure makes a mix sound cohesive.

Dynamic Spectrum Mapper..... I've got to try this thing.
It looks similar to the Sonikisis dynamic compressor.
Good introduction video for it.

I jumped right in the water, 7.2 is working really well for me.
Kontakt is loading fast.... love the color schemes, funny how refreshing they
make the interface seem. Right click, now that is a time saver.

I've scratched off the list Automated Teller Machine, Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Adobe Type Manager, and a couple dozen other --more traditional -- possible meanings.
Thanks,

Re: "Vintage" not necessarily better?

I haven’t tried a straight razor. bb I just shaved with a disposable double edge, I cut my lip.... I never cut my lip. Operator error. I've gone to the barber for a shave occasionally, straight razor, the man had very steady hands. It's a treat, just don't think of any mob movie barber scenes. and ...

Re: "Vintage" not necessarily better?

I have a statue and in 3000 years I am going to sell it as it should be worth a lot of money. Oh man, me too. Now it's value is cut in haft!!... I'll sell in 2999 years. I know a fair amount of guitar players who will only play/buy vintage gear. Hell, It's taken me long enough to know when an instr...

Re: Liquidsonics Reverberate.. best kept secret?

Looking at what Reverberate does, it occurs to me that Proverb
has just about all these same features.
Proverb sounds much, much better to my ears.
Reverberate, sounds phase-y and grain-y to me.

While I'm not retired, I'm in a situation now in which I don't really have to work, so I've attained what I've always wanted An enviably position. I think once a professional, always a professional. Like being the governor of a state, even after your term is over, your still called "governor&q...

I was watching a match on the BBC and I thought "they've got to fix there feed" there was a constant buzzing sound. It made no sense to me, the announcers sounded very clear.... it's those horns.

I have one of the excellent ones. It would smoke a Line 6 any day, but my point was about "in the context of a mix" there might be a time, if a part was buried one might not be able to tell the difference. However I could. There's a sample recording of it in this thead: http://www.motunat...

Re: UAD EMT 250 plug-in: Ooh-la-la!!

I remember midiverb11....Then along came the ibanez SDR1000 and I thought i was in reverb nirvana, recorded two albums with that as my only reverb AND delay. that unit was ahead of it's time As with any of this stuff, it's not what you have it's what you do with it. I've said this before, I've done...
