Modulo = MX4
In my opinion, Modulo sounds a lot like the MX4. You can do more tricks with the MX4 but that may not be necessary depending on your style of music. MX4 needs more patches also.

This is a great program. Top quality sounds. It can be a memory hog sometimes, but besides that. It should do the trick for you.

I love this program.
To be honest, it can be a memory hog sometimes, but for me it I use one instrument at a time I'm good.
I think all the instruments sound great.
I have a macbook Core 2 Duo.
