Hello boonier -- I have read on the net that Apple has a new firewire audio driver that takes care of a lot of the issues. It is prerelease software, which means that they haven't yet released it to the general public, nor do they support it. So I guess there is some risk involved. But from what I ...

Hi Timeline, If I were you I'd go with a Ultralight, as for the money, it looks very tasty indeed. Basically a mk2 828 in a smaller box + you can daisychain any other motu firewire interfaces. I have a FA-101, which I find is a lovely sounding interface, but alas the audio drivers built into os x ar...

Well, for an update (if anyones interested) I called Apple UK and spent well over half hour on the phone with them, moving up through the food chain..all at no avail. They said that as the laptop had no history of failure in the 1st year of its use, they couldn't consider an repair/replacement excep...

Thanks for the words Frodo. An interesting experience you & your sister had there too. I'm taking it to a guy to have a look at it tomorrow, fingers crossed that its something that I wont have to pay for (ie. it is covered by one of apples replacement schemes) Its a shame that we have to get our...

Apple laptops - shonky pieces of h/ware??

I'm more than a little dismayed at Apple. I trully suspect that the build quality of their portables of the last 3 years leaves a lot to be desired. Judging by the number of "Recall programmes" currently active for this machine, i think you'd agree. My 2nd powerbook in just over 1 year has...

I'm very concerned about this problem, as I've been more and more suspecting that Core Audio is at the heart of the bugs, which could mean that MOTU is powerless to fix it. I don't have any proof for my suspicions, just a continual series of audio anomalies when NOT using DP. Symptoms include audio...

Dare i say, but I think the Apple Matrix reverb sounds well lush - and its free and nice on the CPU. I don't think I'm the first to say that.

Freeze is a bit of a misnomer; it should be called Automated Track Bounce what I generally so is allow dp to set up its own freeze track then the audio is frozen I move it to its own track, thus freeing up the dedicated freeze track for further freezes. This means that you'll have a bunch of reserve...

could be file permissions.

I'd suggest repair permission on your disk and, if you have it, run DiskWarrior to repair your directory

I just read your post on the bidule forum :D. You realise that if you buy the license you can run bidule directly as a Au plugin in DP and avoid all this mallarky? Yes you need to have your interface running to complete the audio path. Also make sure you;ve set up Audio Bundles properly. Bidule shou...
