Re: Snapshot Implementation

Part of the reason for this post was to see if much had changed in this department from 7 to 10 and I'm guessing it hasn't. I feel like I need this on every single project I do. I seem to often be looking for a plug setting, moving through windows, losing my train and then I think 'Snapshot must be ...

Re: Snapshot Implementation

Absolutely, I get that it would be useful, as it is now, for certain situations.
What I would love is more precision....leave all the options as they are currently but add the facility to be able to pin-point instantly what you'd like to 'snap', directly from the Sequence Editor.

Snapshot Implementation

Every few years, I go and read the 'Snapshot' section of the DP manual, get confused and go back to never using the feature. I feel like it could be very valuable but I can't seem to make it practical for me. Bearing in mind I'm on DP 7 and things could have developed but what I have always wanted i...

Re: Muting movies pernamently

Just following up on this in case any else comes across it. After a bit of experimenting, I discovered that duplicating the chunk of a sequence which has a movie with the sound up will create the issue I was experiencing. That is, the new sequence movie will have the sound up when the project is re-...

Re: Muting movies pernamently

Thanks MLC, I'll look into that video software for sure. I have noticed ever so slightly unusual behaviour when I load a sequence from another DP project and drag it right into an existing sequence. Which makes sense to me as every chunk has its own set of individual settings. I'm thinking maybe tha...

Re: Muting movies pernamently

If you have QT Pro 7, you can open the movie in that, then go to Window/Show Movie Properties... Select the sound track, and just click on the Delete button at the top left. Save or save as... Reduces the size of the movie by whatever portion the audio was taking up. I don't see this option availab...

Re: Muting movies pernamently

I was getting it on a few projects with this same MP4 file and then I tried a brand new project and that same MP4 file stayed muted so :? hmmm.... I did import other DP project sequences into the problematic projects and ended up with 2 master volume tracks so maybe that caused the confusion?? Anywa...

Muting movies pernamently

This might be a quirk of DP7 but it keeps catching me out. The project doesn't remember the mute status of the movie I've imported into a DP project. I use 'Copy Movie Audio to Sequence' and solo/ unsolo that for reference. I then mute the audio on the movie but when I close (and save), the movie is...

Terry

Nice! I posted over there my findings on the italics issue. Seems like he was having the same problem.

Re: DP Approaches for handling orch articulations

8- When you instantiate the Clipping in a project, for some reason DP doesn't recognize my master audio out from the Clipping, (reported to DP in my case as Analog 1-8 1-2 ) so you stupidly have to select the output from the virtual instrument in the track and select... Analog 1-8 1-2. Play, Kontak...

Re: How to make clippings

So, this works......really well :) If I operate from a single template, the inputs and outputs from a clipping do not become italicized. I'm keeping (nearly) all my old templates but from now I'm basically going to use just the one. It's got one mono track, one stereo, 2 MIDI and an Aux. I generally...

Re: How to make clippings

So, I was mistakenly using Global clippings when I needed to be placing them in the project folder's Clippings folder. This was no biggie - I copied and pasted my clippings (with their file extensions intact) from the AppData folder to the Project Clippings folder and they all worked instantly. I h...

Re: How to make clippings

Thanks Terry, for the response. Would you be able to try something simple just to see how it works on Windows/ DP10? - With a brand new DP project, create a new audio track. - Select this track including one bar in the sequence (this can be empty of any soundbites/ data as per the previous responses...

Re: How to make clippings

Creating and adding folders of tracks (MIDI, Aux, Instrument, & Audio) is the ultimate way to go with clippings, I've found. Interesting. You're talking about DP tracks folders here right? Not OS folders. Just want to make sure! What I found is that the the folders don't get saved with the clip...

Re: How to make clippings

I resurrecting this thread again as I am having an issue around routing and italicized outputs. I spent most of the day today organinsing stuff that I hadn't dealt with in a while, things like bundles, mix routing, templates, clippings and found myself searching this forum a bit. Mainly my problem i...
