SMPTE with DP5 and 828mkii or 896HD
Hello, I need to resolve my recording to video SMPTE and wonder what the settings are in my Sequence window? I tried this once before and could not get the counter to sync to incoming time code. I had to record the SMPTE to an audio track. Please advise if you are familiar with this set up. Also, on...

New Install refuses to Open
Greetings, I have purchased a new MACBOOKPRO and tried to install my DP5. Installation is successful but upon startup it immediately goes to "The application DP5 quit unexpectedly"... I reinstalled and the same thing. Anyone else? This is the first intel mac I have purchased. Is it related...

No MIDI instruments
Greetings, I am setting up a new system on a G5 10.4.7 with DP, 828mkii, and a Novation SL61. I cannot get DP to recognize the Novation and then when I go to Audio MIDI Setup in OSX, every time I try to sellect "MIDI Devices" the application unexpectedly quits. Anyone have this problem and...

GOT IT!
You just open the stereo sound file in the waveform editor, select one side, and create new soundbite from selection as is in the soundbite menu. Viola' - mono soundfile.
Love it when it works!

Splitting Stereo WAV files to mono?
What is the easiest way to split a stereo WAV file into two mono (.L .R) files? I have a sequence that stars with two mono and then the original engineer went to stereo.
Thank you.
Thank you.

If IZotope wanted to pull off a coup here, they would reduce the price of their top-end noise-reducer (or just bundle them all together), and sell it for under $400. Why? Because everyone would buy it,...Shooshie There's a lot of wisdom in that statement. Make the $$$ profit with volume sales. Ever...

Quick Soundfile import to Sequence?
Is there a way to sellect all files of say an 8 track recording and get then to import to a blank Sequence window - effectively creating a track for eack file and the files opening in their original time stamp? Is it possible to do this even when I have multiple files that need to open on the same t...

each track = one file?
So by doing a consolodate in PT, will this create a single file for each track? Effectively giving me the same start point for each instrument? Right now I am dealing with files that look like this: cello_01.aif cello_02.aif cello_03.aif perc_01.aif perc_02.aif perc_03.aif ...and so on. I figure thi...

AES Demo
I spent an enormous amount of time grilling the izotope people at AES and they mentioned I was "the most thorough person to come to them". My reason for putting them through the ringer is that I am used to Audiophile results from the likes of Cedar and Cube-tec (the latter I was just about...

Opening PT Session in DP
I need to open PT Sessions in DP and the other engineer did not supply me with OMF Files. I never did this before and need for it to go smoothly. How should I explain to the other engineer how to do the "save as"? Also, anyone that has done this before - is there something I should watch f...

Re: Dumping Prefs
User/Library/Preferences/
find the .plst (with DP NOT launched) and trash it.[/quote]
This area has a lot of ".plst" items but none that actually state they are specific to DP.
Anyone?

Dumping Prefs
Greetings,
I am on location and DP is doing funny things that I think a Preference rebuild will cure. Could someone remind me how to do this so that the next time I reboot DP it will generate new Prefs? I am away from the books and my DP software CD's.
Cheers

400+ fades in a CD length SE window
I often have hunderds of fades from classical sessions over multichannel recordings and the fade problem is a HUGE setback. It is so unstable that at times it will take DP half a minute to finish a fade across 16 tracks at 88.2 Most important is not to touch anything - not even the mouse once this s...
