8 months of PT and I'm ready to come home...
Hey Guys, So I'm 8 months into my ProTools rig and I'm still not at a point where I can run smooth like butter the way I had it with DP. I had a recent discussion with an old LA contact in the TV biz and she needs me to start a wave of material for a few big shows and I just haven't gotten to that p...

MX4 in PT8
Has anyone had any luck pulling MX4 up in Pro Tools 8?
Shouldn't it show up under the normal plugs?
Do I need to use UVI somehow, or is there something terribly simple I'm overlooking here?

Select to the end...
So in DP5, when you would select in the tracks overview window, there was a "start" and an "end" button you could press to automatically select either to the beginning or to the end from where you had selected.
Is this feature gone in DP6?

Re: DP as frontend of PT
OK. So I figured out what the problem was and wanted to post the solution for anyone else who may have the same issue. The only way the Digi 003 will 100% work every time with DP6 is if you open up Core Audio on it's first own and open up Hardware Setup (HW Setup...) and make sure that the sample ra...

Re: DP as frontend of PT
Nope. 003 is all alone on the FireWire. My 828 is sitting in the closet laughing it's a@$ off

Re: DP as frontend of PT
That's some pretty disapointing news.
If you knew just how finicky the 003 is when it comes to serving up anything other than PT, you'd understand my dilemna.
Anyone out there have an experience-based solution?

DP as frontend of PT
So my partner and I combined studios and we now have a hybrid DP6/PT8 studio. He bought a Digi 003 and I bought an 8-core Mac Pro. I figured that's fair, right? After a ton of issues revolving around the 003 playing well with DP6, I still don't really have it figured out, sometimes it works, sometim...

Re: RTAS plug in not showing in Pro Tools 8
Yeah, I tried the UVIworkstation approach and after I installed UVIWorksatation, then copied the MSI.dat file to the proper folder, upon opening UVIWorkstation in standalone mode, it gives me a "can't open volume....MSI.dat". I've installed it several times and still get this error upon l...

Re: Protools-DP hybrid studio
The Colonel didn't give away his secret recipe..... David Thomas protected his.....etc LOL Okay okay.... Well, there are ways to go, quite a few. But based on my experience a solution that I would recommend would be the following: (1) M-Audio ProFire 2626 audio interface (1) M-Audio ProTools M-Powe...

Re: Protools-DP hybrid studio
@HCMarkus: Trust me, there will be enough wiring in the walls/ceiling to start a spaghetti factory! We'll even be running some up to the living room to mic the baby grand (when I buy it!). For drums, we have a full set of V-Drums so we won't be recording live drums or so I've promised the wife :) @B...

Protools-DP hybrid studio
I just bought my first house and come Winter, will have the full pass from the wife to build the studio in the basement. I'm gonna take it down to the studs and build it out from there. My studio has been in boxes for two months and I'm going nuts! My best friend and I are planning on combining our ...

Re: V-Drums into DP5
So, I installed the new HD, RAM and DP6 today and guess what... Same exact latency! One test that I did that definitively eliminates the 828 from being the culprit was to open BFD2 in standalone mode, switch the audio outs to use OS X's CoreAudio instead of the 828 and monitor by pluging my headphin...
