What is the aspect ratio of DP's movie window?
What is the aspect ratio of DP's movie window? It cannot be 16:9, it has to be something else. On my big screen, 1920x1080, there is still free space to the right when the screen is full from top to bottom. On my smaller screen, 1440x900 there is still free space at the bottom when the screen is ful...

Re: Making beats align with rubato tempo in soundbites
I didn't get any link nor an answer for a long time, until I posted another answer in the TechLink in question. I guess it's too hard with the kind of audio I provided. Never mind, I think I can do this myself, now that you've pointed me in the right direction. In the time since we last spoke, I've ...

Re: Making beats align with rubato tempo in soundbites
So that also works with rubato tempo in soundbites, not just MIDI?

Re: Peak after normalizing
It only peaks if I go through the aux track in the V-rack and have Bus 1-2 as output source. The solution would be to use my insert preset as insert and not use the aux track. However, since it doesn't peak in the aux track level meter I don't know if that would make a difference.

Re: Peak after normalizing
I might add that I've recorded into a stereo track, and that it' the left channel in the audio monitor that has the peak. I might also clarify that I cannot hear any distortion, I can only see the peak, so the headline maybe should be something else. Can the headline be changed by users or only by m...

Re: Distortion after normalizing
It depends where your fader is set whether the level will overload after you Normalize a sound bite. I suppose it would be nice of the peaks correlated with -0 on the fader but I've never seen that. Even if it did, that would be useless the second you added a second track. You do want to mix them, ...

Distortion after normalizing
(DP 11, if it makes any difference) After normalizing, the level meter in the audio monitor peaks and the square goes red. I also saw it in the aux track, same channel, but when disabling the EQ it disappeared from there, but not from the audio monitor level meter. How can there be distortion after ...

Re: Making beats align with rubato tempo in soundbites
This is possible but it is a very involved process. You would have to manually drag every beat and/or measure to certain down beats or hit points in the rubato performance. It can take quite a while, but once done is very accurate. There is no "one-click" way to do this with a song that w...

Making beats align with rubato tempo in soundbites
Is it possible to align beats to a soundbite that has a rubato tempo? In other words - as most of time - let's say you are unable to exactly match the metronome click when recording, is it possible to make the tempo in the conductor track adjust itself to the soundbite's different tempos? I've tried...

Re: How do I make a unique copy of a soundbite?
I think this particular case is a rare enough situation that it would be near impossible to come up with search terms that pinpointed the part of the manual that mentions it. In fact everyones suggestions are pretty much workarounds. Another suggestion, there are at least three Facebook pages for D...

Re: How do I make a unique copy of a soundbite?
It's relevant to be aware of "Edge Edit Copy" which is in the Sequence Editor mini-menu. When checked, if you have multiple copies of the same soundbite in the track, right after you edge edit a particular region, it will become a new soundbite with a new number appended to the name, and ...

Re: How do I make a unique copy of a soundbite?
In the Soundbite window you can right-click a soundbite and 'new sound file from selected'. Names are assigned, but you can then change the soundbite name and file name by alt-clicking each entry. It would be nice if there was a dialog presented to do this all at once. Yes, thanks! As you can see i...

Re: How do I make a unique copy of a soundbite?
I help a lot of people but only ones with problems other than laziness. 14 years teaching at a university leaves a mark. You're obviously a well educated man. Then you should know that "tired" not necessarily means that someone is lazy, I actually was only tired. I have high demands on my...
