Re: Simple use of CueMix that has me stumped

CueMix is for routing the zero-latency input signals directly to any output with up to 4 (at least for 828mkII) separate mixes without having to be processed by the computer. So, no I don't think you can do this in CueMix. I don't use Sound Forge, but I would think you should not have to duplicate t...

Re: Original 896 with Windows 7 DISASTER! Help!

You did not mention if you are 32bit or 64bit or if you have installed the latest driver. My 828mkII works just fine in Windows 7 64 bit with Cubase or Reap er. Not sure why you would need $100s in firewire cables. I've never had a problem with cheap ones. Firewire is a digital protocol and unless y...

Re: Using 828 mk2 and mk1 in combination

Also, for 8 channels you will have to record at 48 kHz or less. Only 4 channels at 96 kHz.

Re: Flat Top Waveforms in Cubase. 828mkII & 8Pre.

This issue definitely has nothing to do with clipping or overloading the inputs. Waveforms are still flat topped even at low levels. I thought I had resolved this issue by turning the phantom power off then back on for the condenser mics and adjusting the settings of the tube preamp for the bass gui...

Re: Flat Top Waveforms in Cubase. 828mkII & 8Pre.

Thanks. I'll check that out at next band practice, maybe this Sunday. I wouldn't think that this would be the case with the condenser mics, but definitely could be the case with the bass guitar going through the external preamp.

I appreciate your feedback.

Re: 893mk3 and 8pre connection question

The 8Pre when used as the interface will accept 8 digital inputs via ADAT (48kHz max). So long as you can set your inputs on the 828 to ADAT Out. 1 input pair panned hard left & right per mix bus assigned to an ADAT Output pair.

Re: about 4pre and CueMix

You can probably set up the DAW on one mix bus, and the Incoming signal on another mix bus. Then just change which mix bus your headphones are following. It's not one click, but the sound will switch completely from one to the other. I don't think I have ever heard of exactly the feature you are wan...

Re: Motu Audio Express sudden no sound problem

Trent, you should probably post this in the MOTU with Mac forum. I have an 828mkII and the only time the sample rate led flashes is when my keyboard is turned off. This is because I have the clock sync set to external (SPDIF) so that I can record my keyboard digitally in sync to avoid digital artifa...

Flat Top Waveforms in Cubase. 828mkII & 8Pre.

Sometimes I get a waveform in which the top is flat. As if the upward peaks hit a brickwall limiter, but the downward peaks are normal. This occurred using Cubase SX2 with the 828mkII and 8Pre. I don't know if this is a DAW issue or hardware issue. At first this phenomenon only occurred with two ide...

Re: Motu 828 MK2 Firewire and driver 4.0.4.2546 problems

I had a lot of problems with this in Vista32. Mostly b/c I did not uninstall the previous drivers. When I finally got it straightened out, by manually deleting all traces I could find of anything MOTU, the install worked fine. Although, I never could get the old installer removed from the Programs a...

CueMix can route 4 buses to whichever outs you desire.
Cubase can also has multiple assignable buses. Or you can create group channels, assign any tracks to them, and assign the group track to any output.

I have heard some people and read some reviews that prefer Emu Xboard over the Axiom.

What is your take?

So, it is 2008 and I ended up buying the Alesis Photon X25. Unforunately, I didn't come back here and re-read my own topic, and forgot that the Photon doesn't have AT at all! I saw the price drop and snatched it up. The ultimate deciding factor was price since I'm on a limited budget and need other ...
