Re: Instant crash, 9.52, 10.14.1
I am sorry to hear about your problem, but..... ...it is good to know that I am not the only person who has been suffering from the *insta-crash* known as DP 9.52 and OS 10.14.1. I experienced this before Thanksgiving and emailed MOTU support about it. They suggested I try the new account trick. At ...

Re: How is Mojave working for you?
I haven't researched this yet, but I have one computer with 10.14 (DP works great) and another with 10.14.1 and Digital Performer won't start. Crashes on startup while seemingly asking for my serial number... Ugh.

Re: See All Tracks in Mixer View
Command-D to deselect all before you switch to the mixer. The mixer will then display the tracks that were displayed last time the mixer was open. Or Switch to mixer then View menu>Show tracks>All. You can also assign a key command to this function in the Commands window. Dave Thanks for this info ...

See All Tracks in Mixer View
I mostly do MIDI sequencing and recording in Track View and Mixer View. When toggling over to Mixer View (Consolidated Window, for example), it only shows me the tracks that are selected in Track View, which is typically just the one track I've been recording on. This is annoying, because am usually...

MIDI playback: How to select what MIDI data is sent to synth
Using DP 9.13 with a Yamaha Montage 8. When playing back MIDI tracks, the track volumes, pan positions, etc., are being sent to the Montage, which is changing parameter settings inside the Montage preset. Not cool. I thought that I could halt this by simply turning off the mixer automation on the de...

Re: Potential FAQ Question for new DP users?
Q: I am a [insert DAW] user who is trying out the Digital Performer demo. In [DAW] , I can [desired operation] by [detail workflow using feature very specific to DAW] , but I can't in DP? How can I get DP to [desired operation] exactly like [DAW] ? A: Digital Performer is not [DAW] . Hehehe... just...

Re: Why upgrade from 7.24?
It might not just be the $199. How much RAM is in your iMac? You're not likely to see any advantage to running DP in 64 bit mode unless you have a lot, like 16G or thereabouts. What plugins and VIs do you use that would require a paid update to get to 64 bit? Do you have any other equipment or add-...

Why upgrade from 7.24?
I've been a happy DP user since about 2002, and am currently running 7.24. I runs great on my 3.2 GHz quad core i5 27" iMac. I am just a "home hobbyist" who sequences and records hardware and software synthesizers (mostly software these days). That's all. I am not exactly a power user...

Re: mac pro to mac pro
Using the Apple "migration" program, I transferred everything from my old iMac (via wi-fi and a time machine drive) to a new iMac in February, including DP 7.24. This worked absolutely flawlessly. However, when I went to use DP, it insisted that I insert my original install disk into the C...

Priorizing computer specs for DP and software instruments
I am running DP 7.24 with a number of software instruments - Omnisphere, several Arturia instruments, Z3TA, Sylenth1, MOTU Ethno2, MachFive2, Absynth, etc. I mostly do MIDI sequencing with hardware and software instruments - not a lot of audio recording. I want to replace my circa 2007 iMac, which i...

Track View vs Mixer View
I switch back and forth between the Track and Mixer screens. It is annoying to me that a track needs to be selected in Track View in order to have that track show up on the Mixer. I wish I could simply tell DP to ALWAYS show tracks 1-20 (for example) when I open the Mixer. Is there a way to do this?...

Re: Freezing Tracks With Omnisphere
Well, it seems I have figured this out myself, and the answer is quite obvious. Even though Omnisphere is multi-timbral, you can run multiple instances of it. So you can freeze whatever tracks you want (while leaving the settings intact), and simply open up another instance to use a new sound on ano...

Freezing Tracks With Omnisphere
I have mostly worked with mono-timbral softsynths. When my CPU starts to get maxed out, I freeze track and disable that softsynth instrument track to free up my CPU. Working with a multi-timbral synth like Omnisphere, I am struggling with the best way to do this. If I only want to have one live Omni...

Re: Does Ethno Work
Not a lot of activity on this thread, but for anyone who's looking, Ethno 1 can be used with Snow Leopard by loading the sound library inside the UVI Workstation: http://www.uvisoundsource.com/uvi-workstation/article_info.php/articles_id/8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Thi...
