Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Another one is that my metronome won't sound when I record (or playback), despite having selected it (and output channel etc is correct). If Metronome is lit (blue), typically clicks will not sound. I have to deselect metronome, then re-select DURING recording/playback for it to finally sound the c...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
I went ahead and downloaded this to test. It shortens notes randomly with all piano plugins here, EW, NI, IK, and Arturia which is a virtual instrument from what I know, It does not shorten any synthesizer plugin I throw at it. Side note, if you hold down the Sustain peddle it doesn't shorten the n...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Not sure what's going on, but I loaded several preset patches in Legato mode on both of them and nothing abnormal happened on my end. They all played as they should and none of them kept sustaining when they shouldn't have. Another DP mystery I guess. I can't get Nanosampler to exhibit the behavior...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Okay... FWIW I just found the "Legato" Mode button on Modulo and it still seemed to playback okay for me in DP 11.31. Not sure what accounts for that. Also I tried Legato mode in BassLine as well. No issues for me. Are you having this happen on your M1 or your Intel Mac? Using the default...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Just tried this with MOTU Bassline and Modulo. Those worked fine. So definitely seems like something affecting third party VIs that are in a non-native format (anything other than MAS) that requires the support bundles that act as a translator between MAS and other formats. massupport.png An intere...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Maybe someone could upload the test project demonstrating where that happens? And if we don't have the piano VI we can substitute one? I'd like to try this. Especially to see how it works fine at *specific* tempos. That's pretty interesting! I tried this on a few different VIs and they all did the ...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
It's not very consistent. I just did a test and the 2nd note of a series was always shorted, then after than it was more random. It did change with tempo, but slowing down didn't make it better, just different of the notes in the series would short. Sorry to hijack the thread. I suppose it is "...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Oh, duh. I guess it's tempo dependent? On my little test track at 120bpm or slower I get no cutoff notes, but at 121bpm or faster I do get them. So yeah, it's a problem. I’ve set up a key command that shortens durations by one tick. Guess I'll need to continue using that whenever I quantize releases...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
This consecutive note problem hasn't always been the case. It worked fine in some previous version of DP. It broke at some point. Previously, when note #1's OFF was on the same tick as note #2's ON, the OFF was prioritized. Then later, the ON was prioritized causing the note to be shorted. It's obv...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Thanks. I check the effect performance window frequently and it doesn’t tell me anything new.l and the meters rarely get above half especially on my hackintosh. I’d rather favor VST3 to future proof over VST2 and I’m choosing it because. DP is giving me a MAS AU error dialog (all the time). Next we...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
I'm total agreement with the OP and am just about at wit's end with DP. I've used DP since 1998. In the last couple years I've been brutalized by DP's instability. It's horrible. I probably spend 25% of my time with DP troubleshooting (and this was after my fiasco of trying to migrate to widows). M...

DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Is this not because this forum is now dominated by AS and Ventura/Sonoma users? My own experience is that my M1 Max is much more stable than my old cMP.But since this forum is now dominated by issues arising with the intro of AS and Ventura/Sonoma…

Re: Cursor Hand Goes Missing
Yet another AS problem? Not happening here. I’m sure it’s not. Until the OP posted I thought I was the only one that had the problem. And I still may be the only user for whom it happens consistently. Yes, I’m on an AS Mac, but since it’s such an isolated issue, categorizing it as an “AS problem” w...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Regarding #1 and #2 in the OP, since the majority of DP users don't have these issues, there may be something you can do on your end to remedy them. I occasionally have project-specific crashyness (#1) and/or pre-gen issues (#2), but it's rare. ...you are aware of Live Performance Mode, yes? I haven...

Re: Cursor Hand Goes Missing
Clicking off DP into the Finder or another app has no effect on my issue. The tools will come back randomly sometimes, but I can't figure out why. I did notice yesterday that I can always invoke the Cursor tool, even when no other tools are showing up. The little arrows you get when resizing windows...
