I get great results on my PB1.67. Max out your RAM with the highest quality you can. I'm afraid that you will need an external HD though. Don't expect too much with the internal drive, but good results can be had without the plugs. I have used both Firewire and USB drives with exceptional results, a...

My two cents, Change is available: Detune all of your instruments by a few cents. Avoid quantization if at all possible. A living, breathing orchestra will have an amazing amount of slop factor compared to tightly locked keyboard tracks. Too much layering creates mud, not transparency or vitality. I...

Audacity comes bundled with the new USB turntables. ClickRepair does a good job of cleaning up the audio. A couple of months of completely free time will also be very helpful. I have about 1500 LPs, some of which are very rare recordings, and I keep saying I am going to archive these- then I think a...

The mixer won't show the pan control for a mono audio track.

Also, is pan unchecked on the mixer mini menu?

What power supply are you using? The firewire bus may not be enough. Personally, 10.4.8 has not been a problem for me at all. I second the energy preferences suggestion.

The knobs are trims, not faders. The host software (Audiodesk?) should be the fader source. What host software are you using?

Shooshie's review in this forum is a good place to start. What manual are you reading? If it is the DP manual, then I understand where you are coming from. The DP manual only covers the topic of Unisyn publishing patch names in DP. In short, Unisyn is a "universal" synth editor/librarian p...

Need to see it, too! Let me throw in my two cents for my favorite inventor, Leon Theremin. Theremin was a bit younger than Tesla, but it is entirely possible that their paths may have crossed. Theremin endured a similar fate of being screwed, (not by Edison, but by Stalin!) with major inventions lef...
