Re: Fades when using sequencer chunks in song window

Yes, that seems to be the case - volume automation inside a sequence chunk works fine, just not fade-outs at the end (although I think that fade-ins do work, from my previous round of messing about). Manual fades on soundbites work fine though, even though it's not quite as convenient. Here's an odd...

Re: Fades when using sequencer chunks in song window

It is all audio, and the odd thing is that there's lots of automation in there that works fine; it's just the final output that refuses be automated. It's a shame - the Song idea is so nearly useful! I was hoping it would allow me to be a bit modular in my approach. It's for a radio play, and each s...

Fades when using sequencer chunks in song window

Hi, I've just started playing with Songs in DP 9.52 and have hit a snag. I'm not sure though if it's an inherent limitation with the software or the user! I have two sequencer chunks and I simply want to crossfade between them. I've added a fadeout within the first of these and this works as expecte...

Re: Multiple audio inputs to single plugin?

Thanks for the replies so far. I tried adding it on an aux track but that didn't help unfortunately; still no inputs visible in the bundles window. Seeing if DP's surround facilities give any more access to the inputs is an interesting idea but completely new territory for me so it might take a whil...

Multiple audio inputs to single plugin?

I'm using DP 9.52 on Mac and have been playing with a plugin called Muze from Nuspace Audio. It's a clever piece of kit which uses to psychoacoustics to generate a pseudo-3D spatial environment. It has 8 inputs, which means that 8 audio tracks can be fed to it simultaneously. If each is a dialogue t...

Re: How to uninstall DP.

Hi Mike, Apologies for the zombie thread but I'm struggling to get my head round this. So, let's say the following: 1. I first of all install DP on my main machine in the studio; 2. I then install it on my work laptop so I can have it with me when travelling; 3. I subsequently replace that laptop wi...

Re: MIDI problems with Unisyn and Snow Leopard

Well, after ignoring the problem for eighteen months I finally solved it! I'm posting this in case it's useful to anyone else. It was MIDI interference that was to blame. I've got a Nord Modular, which generates a blizzard of sysex on its control channel even when it's sitting there doing nothing. W...

Re: MIDI problems with Unisyn and Snow Leopard

I'll give MOTU a try - I've found them very helpful in the past but was sort of assuming that no-one there will even remember Unisyn, let alone have any experience with it! But yes, worth a go. The only thing that's putting me off getting Midiquest is the pain that I anticipate in trying to move all...

MIDI problems with Unisyn and Snow Leopard

Hi, First of all, let me hold up my hand as a fully-paid-up member of the Luddite Tendency - it's 2016 and I've only just made the move from PPC to Intel! Even so, I haven't jumped all that far, just as far as Snow Leopard, so that I can still run a range old, but perfectly functional, PPC programs....

Send patch change messages from Unisyn?

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but I can't find a way to change patches from Unisyn. The scenario: I'm using Sysex Librarian to upload banks of patches to a JV 1080; I'm then using Unisyn to read those banks, ready for incorporation into my library; What then I want to do though is to step t...

Recording keyboards with Ultralite Mk1

Hi, I've just bought an Ultralite Mk1 from FleaBay, the plan being to do some live recording of electric piano and synths, acoustic guitar and vocals. Guitar and vocals are going into the mic/instrument channels and are recording very nicely in Digital Performer. The keyboards, on the other hand, ar...

Re: Sample rates & file headers

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that worked. So, it seems that DP only scans the headers on import. That's a bit of a pain though, as there are a lot of files, and lot of soundbites in those files. So, the next question is: does anyone know how to force an in-situ re-scan? Of course, I could just give up...

Sample rates & file headers

I'm having an oddity on DP 7.24 (dual G5, OS 10.5). I recorded some files with the project sample rate set to 48 kHz and realised that I should have started out at 44.1. Now I know that DP can convert sample rates quite happily without any outside help, but I'd been looking at the comparisons on thi...
