Re: Creating patchlists for newer or unsupported synthesizers
Not sure if this is a coincidence, or if this is you on the other forum. If it's not you, then perhaps you'll find these threads useful. This is a user forum for Kurzweil, and the threads are about patchlists for K2700 & DP. https://forums.godlike.com.au/index.php?topic=7675.0 https://forums.go...

Re: Creating patchlists for newer or unsupported synthesizers
Glad to hear you could get it running. We could set up a little thread here to share patch-lists in the .midnam format for various hardware synths. The files are tiny, and easily attached to posts. People could post requests, and others who have that gear, and have either already created a patch li...

Re: Creating patchlists for newer or unsupported synthesizers
A small update, just to let the kind people participating this thread, This morning I powered up my faithful old hackintosh running Mojave and realised that CherryPicker runs very smoothly and it’s particularly collaborative. On the other hand, on my MacBook Pro i9 16”, running Monterey, there are n...

Re: Creating patchlists for newer or unsupported synthesizers
... existing .midnam files can be adapted to follow the correct format for DP to read. This. Just copy one for a "similar" synth (ROMpler or whatever), open it in Text Edit and see what you can do. HonestlyI find this suggestion completely not applicable, unless I want to go straight to a...

Re: Creating patchlists for newer or unsupported synthesizers
I haven't had time to look into this. There was a version of Cherry Picker that is available for DL that worked on OS as late as Mojave I think? I haven't had to do it in a while, but I want to investigate a way to create a patchlist with Cherry Picker on an older computer and then figure out how t...

Re: Creating patchlists for newer or unsupported synthesizers
I'm interested in this subject. I also have a couple Kurzweil keyboards (PC3K & K2661-- which are long in the tooth, and I may one day get a K2700 or newer). ... snip... I wonder if Logic's patchlist creation tool creates any file that can be accessed-- and, if necessary, modified to these ends...

Creating patchlists for newer or unsupported synthesizers
I'm writing to know if there's an easier and convenient mode to create patchlists, in order to recall more efficiently synthesizer patches by name instead of a brutal combination of CC0, 32 and program change. In the past I used CherryPicker but now I'm not sure if it can still run under Catalina or...

Re: DP10/11 with Roland Fantom 6/7/8
You may find more success by listing your problem on a Roland Fantom forum. I have a Fantom G7, and I believe there is an active form for us guys, but I forget the exact web address. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Unfortunately on Roland Clan Forum there's a dedicated section ...

Re: DP10/11 with Roland Fantom 6/7/8
hello tamarindo1000, we have similar issues and it seems that Roland prefers helping Logic and Live users instead of the ones who own DP. Same said for the Yamaha Montage... up to Yamaha Motif XF (which I still own) DP was supported. Now, also Montage has support only for Logic and Live. I'm really ...

Inconvenient question
Out of curiosity, how many people in this forum are running their DAW, i.e. Digital Performer, on a PC that is not really an Apple computer? I started going the other way almost 10 years ago and, after all, I'm still satisfied not only for the great amount of money I saved, but also for the great pr...

Re: Korg nanoNONTROL in CC mode and DP
Thanks to Travis from MotU, I got a substantial hint to resolve my conundrum. In a nutshell, nanoKONTROL can’t be in DAW and CC mode at the same time. Thus I disabled it from Surface Control Window and, to my amazement, it began outputting CC streams as desired. There’s just a thing I’m still not ab...

Korg nanoNONTROL in CC mode and DP
My (apparently) simply goal is to control DP MIDI tracks with a couple of nanoKONTROL I programmed nanoKONTROL with its proprietary editor, assigning each group (slider, knob and buttons) to a different CC and MIDI channel. For instance group 1 is assigned to MID channel 1, slider to CC#07 and knob ...

Re: MOTU MIDI interfaces and SYSEX reliability
Usually M-Audio Midisport 8x8s are reliable MIDI interfaces with SMPTE and useful functions, even though better under MacOS9.

Re: Building a 64 input system
Well, we aren’t MOTU. In addition to allowing older FW interfaces to work over Catalina, the latest drivers resolve a number of issues in High Sierra and Mojave. Again, it’s a support issue. My 828mkII is one of the last made, making it over 14 years old. I don’t blame MOTU for deciding not to dedi...

Surface control for 16A
I’m wondering why MotU, after having conceived and produced such wonderful audio interfaces, has never provided a serious hardware controller. I’m pretty new on this AVB system (was used to FireWire interfaces that can be managed through CueMix and Korg two nanoKONTROL and/or a Yamaha 01v) but, as f...
