Re: Latest MacOS for Digital Performer 11.x

Thank you! I was sure that this must be the case, but the MOTU site threw me off.

Latest MacOS for Digital Performer 11.x

Hi All: I need to repair (replace the motherboard) my late 2016 MacBook Pro with a quad 2.9GHz i7 and 16GB ram. I want to upgrade to the last MacOS that will run on my computer, which is OS 12.6.5 Monterrey. I was positive that would work with Dig. Performer 11.x, but the (probably out-of-date) info...

Re: Cant install the driver of Motu ultralite mk3 hybrid to my mac

Well, MOTU's Mike Batson responded to my TechLink and basically gave me the same info you did. He wrote: --------------- Hey Robert, Thanks for connecting with us. To start, the MTPAV is not supported on this macOS version unfortunately - we do not make a driver for this device and this macOS. You c...

Re: Cant install the driver of Motu ultralite mk3 hybrid to my mac

Mike-thanks! I did find the driver and installed it. I did set up my MTP-AV and my external controller and modules, but I still can't get it to pass MIDI to the computer to be routed to each module, or to soft synths. Maddening! There were two packages to choose from in the installer: the first is c...

Re: Cant install the driver of Motu ultralite mk3 hybrid to my mac

I upgraded my MBPro to MacOS10.15.7 Catalina (DP10.13) a few months ago, and everything has been fine. However, I haven't had to use my MTP-AV until yesterday and it wouldn't work. I see the flashing lights from my keyboard controller on the interface. I also see the MTP-AV listed under the USB pane...

Re: Pan Control Rant

And in a semi-related question, why is that when I pan a stereo track the left/right level meters to the right of the fader don't show the effect of the panning, even though I can hear it and see it on the master fader meters. Are the track level meters somehow before the pan? This seems odd, althou...

Re: Best Windows laptop for DP10

By the way, assuming that you do use a PC, is there a version of Time Machine in the PC world? Or do you use a PC version of Carbon Copy Cloner to do it manually? Window has built in functionality akin to Time Machine called File History that is folder rather than disk oriented. You can set the fol...

Re: Best Windows laptop for DP10

It's true that with today's SSD drives, one large internal drive is all you need. On the other hand, in the practical world, there is nothing wrong with a smaller internal drive for system and apps and externals for other things. I have an external for audio, and an external SSD for samples with a ...

Re: Best Windows laptop for DP10

Some good information here: https://www.musicradar.com/news/best-laptops-for-music-production There are some specialty mfgs like this: https://pcaudiolabs.com/ A good source of info is to check out some other DAW forums that have a big PC user base like PT, Cubase/Nuendo and Studio One. As far as p...

Re: Best Windows laptop for DP10

Thanks, Mike: The reason I like a separate drive, or at least a separate partition, is that I can then have a clone of the system drives and apps to clone back to another drive if the SSD goes down. Mixing my OS + apps with project files and samples is hard to deal with. That's my thinking anyway. ...

Best Windows laptop for DP10

Hi All: Sorry for the open-ended question, but although I've been using MOTU on Macs since the mid-80s, my grown daughter wants to expand her musical endeavors with putting together a MOTU/PC laptop system to get her ideas recorded. The is a Windows user, and wants to remain there, and I don't have ...

Differing latency using two different aggregated interfaces

Hi All: I use my Metric Halo ULN-8 3D pre/interface for remote recording with my late-2016 MacBookPro (TB3 + USB-C). I wanted to find a way to backup (mirror record) on to another device that would work standalone, without the ULN-8 or a computer, so I found the new Sound Devices MixPre-10T. I’ve us...

Re: Broken plugin automation, DP8.07

Hi Shooshie, thanks for replying. While troubleshooting, I tried plugs from several vendors to see if the problems were with just certain third-party plugs or were more global, which would indicate a DP8.07 problem. As I tried different plugins on a new, empty project, this is what I found: 1) Brain...
