Re: Mac Studio won't reliably shut down, but restarts with error

Do you have an external drive attached? I’ve had that, and it was due to a particular drive hooked up externally….sort of. It does it on my desktop, but not on my laptop. Never really solved it, except have the drive disconnected. & it’s the drive, not the enclosure. It’s happened on both an nvm...

Re: Long, stuck notes in DP 11.01 & Yamaha CP88

Why not upgrade to 11.03? Well, if you're not experiencing any bugs I guess that could be a reason. For me there were way too many issues not to update to the latest, and 11.03 has been the most stable so far. Not superstable, but way better. Anyway, the stuck notes hasn't reared its ugly head again...

Re: Long, stuck notes in DP 11.01 & Yamaha CP88

Well, it's gone. Sort of...I still get some weird double notes, like the note got triggered twice, even though it didn't, and I only catch it when I'm editing MIDI and see two notes on top of each other. It's tolerable, much more so than the elongated notes. Anyway, I fixed the stuck notes b...

Re: Long, stuck notes in DP 11.01 & Yamaha CP88

In a strange way, I;m glad to read this post. I finally setup a tech note with MOTU to try to figure this out. They told me I was the only one with this problem..... John Carter thirteen/eight productions God Bless you John, as well as your troubles! I am not alone! :woohoo: :smash: Hoping this upd...

Re: Long, stuck notes in DP 11.01 & Yamaha CP88

Just a random suggestion, toggle your DP Live Performance Mode setting (on if off (the default), or off if on). I've found that a lot of MIDI gremlins, including stuck notes or weird note durations disappear with LPM on. Thanks, tried it but still there. I'm so annoyed I finally updated my Ableton ...

Re: Long, stuck notes in DP 11.01 & Yamaha CP88

Installed 11.02, still there. So far, this is what I've done to troublshoot: in DP/Mac 1. disabled audio, MIDI only 2. in Setup/Input filter- unchecked everything (velocities, Pressure, Pitch betnd, Controllers…) except of course Notes 3. MIDI track Protocols set to MIDI and not to MPE 4. 10.13 &...

Weird long notes in the MIDI editor after recording.
Did you try rolling back to 11.0 ? It disappeared when I rolled back. (Had to delete the DP prefs in Library, MAS folder etc) Reappeared after updating again to 11.01.

Long, stuck notes in DP 11.01 & Yamaha CP88

Anyone here using a Yamaha CP88 w/ DP11.01? I'm getting these long, stuck notes (not with 11.0 & not with 10.13...just the latest update...& not with my other kybrd NI-Kontrol49). I (w/motu tech) can't seem to track the issue down.

Re: FYI...DP 11.01 is out

Maybe I’m looking at the wrong library folder, the one I access by holding down the “option” key and selecting “library” from the “go” menu, that library does not contain a propellerhead sub folder in the application support folder. I must need to go to the other library folder. Now if I could just...

Re: FYI...DP 11.01 is out

The key to fixing the dp 11.01 crash is to delete the propellarheads application support folder. There is a rewire driver in there that dp 11.01 is not ignoring even though dp does not officially support rewire any longer. If you ever run ableton live it may try to repopulate that application suppo...

Re: FYI...DP 11.01 is out

No go here. After doing the plug-in disable dance, I manually dragged all the AU and VST out of the Library and it still crashed on launch. Gonna try to go back to 11.0. This is really a downer... I just tried with the disable crash reporter option, get the same crash either way... Guess I hav...

Re: The Current State of the Mac May 2018

It seems to be a good time to buy an iMac Pro since it's relatively new, and the release of the new Mac Pro to replace the trash cans will be at least a year away, according to rumors. The only thing that gives me pause in splurging for the iMac Pro is the rumor of the june announcement of the new M...

Re: The Current State of the Mac May 2018

Could it due to something other then the CPU? Soft related perhaps? Well, it’s been awhile, but I do remember trying just about everything I could think of & was almost relieved when Mr. Spectrasonics himself mentioned the importance of CPU speed. I mean, the main reason I bought the 8core was ...

Re: The Current State of the Mac May 2018

Cool, thanks for the report. Regarding your statement about cpu speed being irrelevant, I did have an issue when I had my 8core MacPro tower several years ago (i think it was 2.26). I was baffled at the poor performance with Spectrasonics & some other VIs, and Eric Persing said that CPU speed st...
