Re: Audio Unit "skip for now" - how to I rescan?
Right. DP 7.4 isn't supported on Sierra. Glad you're good now! Well, maybe not supported, but it was working just fine. It was the new Waves plug-ins that were the problem. I suspect they are 64 bit, which I believe DP 7.24 is not. Don't know this for sure, just know that upgrading to DP 8.07 on th...

Re: Audio Unit "skip for now" - how to I rescan?
Dredging up this post to seek the assistance of the collective... I installed a new Waves plug-in which required me to use the Waves Central installer. When using it, I got a message that I needed to reinstall my existing plug-ins, which I was able to do. However, I can't get DP to rescan my plug-in...

Re: A question about chunks
I looked at the situation again last night. Couldn't get anything to work. I ended up editing the vocal in the chunk that was imported to my session but not scrambled, consolidating, and importing that soundbite into the mix chunk. This worked fine, and the vocal edit chunk is still in my session if...

Re: A question about chunks
Thanks for replying, MLC, but I don't know what good that would do. I have two chunks in the mix session. One has the first demo vocal and the mix tracks, and the second chunk has the new vocal edit only, which plays back correctly with the edits, so I don't think the problem lies with session compa...

A question about chunks
I have a problem using chunks I hope someone can explain. Here's the scenario: Recorded a demo about a year ago and did several mixes, including a vocal-minus track. Singer didn't like original vocal, so the instrumental track was imported to a different DP session, did several takes, and made a com...

Re: Stereo to mono
I also use ProTools and they offer mono aux,s, VI,s etc. I wish DP made it easier. When I create a VI bass track or solo violin, or solo VI, I do not need them in stereo. When I record an acc bass, I put 2 mics on it, and want to blend them together with a mono aux not a stereo. Tired of politics t...

Re: External MIDI lagging in DP 9.01/El Cap?
It turns out that if I monitor my audio inputs on my 24I/O in DP using a stereo aux track I’m getting latency and hearing the synth behind the beat. On the other hand, if I monitor it through an actual stereo audio track I hear things in time without latency. Is this normal? I haven’t loaded up som...

Re: All my MIDI interfaces are obsolete, apparently
At this point, maybe just get a Fastlane for your main keyboard controller, spend the rest of the new MIDI interface money on Mach Five or other sampling software and call it a day...

Re: Mackie Control Touch Sensitive?
I have a Mackie MCU Pro that I use with DP 8. Touch does work with faders as would be expected, but it does not automatically select the track when I touch a fader. I think this would be a problem as you can move several faders at once. There is a "select" button on each channel that will ...

Re: Real Time Bounce to Disc ?… please help
While probably nice to have for adding final limiters or mastering processing, you don't really need the aux track in the chain. You could assign all outputs directly to the audio record track input via a bus.

Re: Show Take Number on Soundbite?
Can't you tell by the track color? Seems last time I did a comp with the comp tool, the comp retained the original take's color, so when you "show takes" you can tell which one it came from.

Re: DP8 clippings-track transfer between sessions?
Yes, definitely did a time-range selection. Highlighted the entire track and copied it to clippings. When I dragged the clipping into the other session I got garbage. Start times are the same, frame and sample rates are the same. I think it's a bug. I haven't checked if I have the latest version of ...

DP8 clippings-track transfer between sessions?
Did a search, but results were overwhelming, so sorry if this has been covered... I have some DP8 tracks that were edited in one session that I wish to transfer to another. I highlighted a track and all of its regions and copied that selection to a clippings window. I then opened another DP8 session...

Re: How to use a MOTU interface as a standalone mixer?
I think the only reason to attempt to use the interface without Cue Mix is if you don't have a computer hooked up to it. Since you will have a laptop hooked up anyway, just use Cue Mix. It's way easier to control and you can have DP and Cue Mix open at the same time. Plus, you can save your settings...

Re: turn off 2408 MK3 while computer is on?
I'd be more concerned about your speakers. My interfaces thump pretty loudly when turned off. I have my speakers on a seperate power strip so I can turn them on after the interfaces, and turn them off before I power down.
