Re: Editing middev and midnam files in OSX 10.15.7 (Catalina)

I just recently did as James suggested. I created a Kurzweil PC3 MIDMAN and modified MIDDEV file on my old Mac Pro 3,1 running 10.11.6 using Cherrypicker. I transferred the files over to my 2020 27" iMAC running the latest Catalina. The files worked great. I'm on DP 10.13.

Re: Changing Tempo with Audio and MIDI???

Jeff, Are you on version 10.11 yet? There is a column in the tracks window labeled STC (stretch). Make certain that has a green dot for all the audio tracks you want adjusted. Also, be sure that all the audio has been analyzed for tempo. It should be pretty fluid unless you are getting real wild wit...

Re: New 2020 27” iMac

I ordered the iMac today. I went with just the 1TB SSD. I know Mike is a big fan of large internal storage and I understand his reasons, but the extra $400 for 1TB of storage was just too much for my budget. I need to get a new audio interface now and my extra funds are going towards that.

Re: New 2020 27” iMac

I'm about to order an iMac 27" 10 core, 8G ram (which I will upgrade myself with 2 16 G chips) and the 5500xt video and 1TB SSD. I'm hoping this keeps me for another 10 years like my old 3,1 MacPro tower.

Re: Kontakt channels 17-32

Perhaps you are confusing the audio outputs in Kontakt with the MIDI inputs. Kontakt does offer 64 audio outputs. Those can be used to route different mic positions to separate outputs, or perhaps separate out the various drums from a kit.

Re: MOTU DP 10 Webinars

I’ve listened in on all of them so far. Matt is awesome and the info has been priceless. It comes fast and furious so it’s hard to absorb it quickly. These are the best promo MOTU has done ever. Much better than all the Logic, Cubase, Abelton videos on YouTube.

Re: MIDI 2.0

32 bit values for pitch, controllers, and timing will be important to some, I think.

DP 10.11 update just popped up

I just started DP 10.1 up today and was asked if I wanted to download 10.11. What the heck, what could go wrong? Version 10.11 introduces the following fixes: • Fixed bug were the wiper would stop moving when mouse was not moving. • Fixed a bug where seeking backward one frame at a time would not re...

Re: Quickscribe won't open - crashes program

This happened to me a long time ago. It turned out to be a missing or corrupted font.

Re: DP 10.1 sounds better.

I noticed that too. I thought I must be imagining it. There’s difference between 10.01 and 10.1 in my experience. Better stereo imaging, more definition in miids and highs.

Re: Upgrade to DP 10.01 coming soon...

Seems to me that a bug like the missing after touch would have been fixed sooner in earlier versions. It bothers me it’s taken this long as recording after touch is basic MIDI sequencer functionality.

Re: Thoughts on Roland A-80?

I have both an A-80 and a PC3. The Roland has a MUCH nicer keyboard and was my main board since I bought it new back in the early ‘90’s. Make sure the faders are working smoothly. Mine are worn out and go from 0 or 127 and that’s it. The programming is a little wonky but very flexible. You really do...

Re: Separate DACs?

Been to the Schiit site. Hardly any of the links there worked, so it's difficult to assess anything. That’s strange. It works fine for me on my iPad. Also worked ok on safari on the Mac. Which products did you try to research? I’m in Louisville, Ky. Surely there isn’t an issue since you’re in Vanco...
