Re: Changing Velocity with by holding down "V" and dragging mouse!

So Good! Thank you James!

I work in that MIDI editor almost every day and missed that one (probably because I skipped straight from DP9 to DP11).

Re: DP 11.02. Interoperability w/Rewire

I understand MOTU’s decision to remove rewire support, but the timing is most unfortunate, as there is no viable alternative. I had really hoped Dorico 4 would bring a new syncing framework, though Cubase 12 is yet to be released, so that could introduce something (à la Ableton Link). So for now, I...

Re: Logic VS DP in the new mac studio?

Logic exists for one purpose only: It sells Macs. Apple does improve it now and then but it's not a priority. Although the same can be said for FinalCut Pro, it sells high performance Macs. Just echoing Mike's sentiment above. I use both DP & Logic professionally, and have a fair bit of experie...

Re: Hello my old DP loving friends it has been a long time

I would never be one to suggest to anyone to mess with a stable system, but Clips is just one of many things that got added. MIDI wise MPE is now supported fully, Articulation Maps for orchestral libraries are fantastic, the track selector now includes MIDI data types and even MIDI channels, Chunks...

I don't miss it either, but jeez I'm glad that I actually got to learn how to do it! They dropped it the following year when I studied, so I only just scraped in.

But you tell that to the kids these days and they'll never believe you.

Re: Hello my old DP loving friends it has been a long time

I know the experience. People send me things they’ve written in Logic, or GB. I usually have to export to DP and the MIDI export is always an adventure. There are a few things in Logic I really like and wish DP would so, and I’ve started many projects in Logic, but never finished one. Every time, t...

Re: Hello my old DP loving friends it has been a long time

I haven’t noticed any significant changes to MIDI editing. Maybe bugs fixes in editing automation ramps, although you still get the occasional “step” function where you don’t want it. On overlaps, the only thing I see is the duration setting that cuts notes at the start of the next note. Can’t reme...

Re: Hello my old DP loving friends it has been a long time

Mr Clifford ! I’m sticking with V10 at the moment. The improved pitch functions make changing audio tempo and small pitch corrections trouble free, much better than V9 if that sort of thing is useful. Otherwise, V9 is a sweet spot. I can’t see anything in V11, unless you’re desperate for articulati...

Re: Hello my old DP loving friends it has been a long time

Hey Kassonica & Monkey Man, I just popped back in to see what the buzz on the street on DP11 is like. Have hardly been on here for the last few years (I guess I got busy and had kids). Good to see you both! I've happily been using DP9 for the last few years, and I'm trying to see if there's any ...

Re: Crash on Load since 10.13.4

The only two solutions are: 1) wait for our fix, 2) revert to an earlier macOS (10.12 or lower). Both options are unfortunately not very pleasant, sorry. Thanks for that. I appreciate how quick, upfront & honest they've been about it. If only Altiverb wasn't my #1 go to plug-in that I absolutel...

Re: Crash on Load since 10.13.4

Have you reported to AudioEase? No, not yet. But that's a good point. I have been trying to troubleshoot to work out exactly which circumstances cause the crash on save. It's not happening on every project. I opened up a project this afternoon with several Altiverb instances, including Audio track ...

Re: Crash on Load since 10.13.4

Yep. Me too. I had the exact same issue, and updating Altiverb to 4.3.3 fixed the 'crash on load' problem, but has now replaced it with a 'crash on save' problem. It's all fine until I do any type of saving, including export soundbites or bounce (auto-save will crash it too - which explains why it w...
