Thank you very much, I’ll check them out. Really what I want is a MOTU as they originally come but with a quality FireWire port. I’m happy to pay MOTU for my repairs.
Bam! Apple does just that. I’ll admit that Apple doesn’t always have old products available but they don’t make it impossible to gain knowledge either. -Examples of taking care of discontinued products- Audio Technica: my wireless transmitter isn’t turning on. My wireless is 3 years older than my MO...
Bull crap. Nice try. The tech guys at Sweetwater told me that MOTU won’t allow them to work on their gear. Used the word proprietary. Get that? They’re not allowed. That is legally MOTU’s right, but it’s the wrong way to go about life. MOTU won’t supply them or anyone with any manuals or even some g...

Yeah I got me 2 896HD’s that have bad FireWire ports. Otherwise these things never left their rack space, always plugged into a Furman, & have not so much as a scratch.
I'm perplexed by MOTU's choice to not service their not so older models. When I learned they won't make service info available for third party repairs I realized this is a move they think will encourage sales of their newer devices. Wrong. I bought a total of 3 896's not a scratch ... just want one ...
