Re: Pop ... I think ... track NEW, all dp
Thanks very much for the compliments. I also had the idea for female vocals ... sultry even better. I reached out to one such female I know but she is not responding with any interest. If any of you have contacts that cold lead to such a singer, let me know.

Pop ... I think ... track NEW, all dp
So, anyway, quiet section ... here is another track. Not sure what to call the style, I think its pop, and should be paired with some lyrics (vocals). But, since I can't really write those or sing for that matter, it is what it is. Not experimental or out there, not really electronica, or even IDM. ...

Re: Audio Still Present After Deleting (???)
I'm just erasing/deleting in the tracks window. Highlight, press BACKSPACE (DELETE), the end. Normally this eliminates what was there. Hit play, its gone. But the actual instrument tracks were still there, hiding. I had forgotten to turn off the tracks by clicking on the little blue button, again, i...

Re: Audio Still Present After Deleting (???)
OK I think I figured it out. Normally I would erase, but I will leave the post up for humor's sake, and in case anyone else does this. I dismiss the original MIDI/instrument tracks from the window after freezing, so make room. Those don't get erased so when I play back the tune, they play.

Audio Still Present After Deleting (???)
This is a strange bug... I highlighted a section of audio in the Tracks window and hit delete. The content consists of both frozen tracks (audio) and MIDI. It appears to be deleted, nothing remains in the window, but on playback it's all still there! Not sure if this is because they are frozen track...

Re: Routing MIDI from One Virtual Instrument to Another
I am having the same problem. I downloaded the demo version of Cthulhu to see what it's all about, and can't get it to work. I yanked the AU component so that only the VST plugin was installed (into the recommended place). After a couple rounds getting DP to scan and load the plugin, It finally did ...

Re: EDM/Trance/Place-subcategory-here Track
I listen to a ton of Trance and Psy-Trance when writing (it is soooo soothing!) via subscriptions to DI.fm and Philosomatika.fm (worth every penny, too!), and perhaps the improvement of the bass and sub-bass will bring out the contrast with the more treble material. But I blame the Grados - which a...

Re: EDM/Trance/Place-subcategory-here Track
Terry, Yeah, I realized as I was going that the track above was more trance than EDM, for the reasons you stated. Especially in the area of builds, risers, etc. They are designed to move the energy up and down, trance is more ... well, trancy. Part of why I'm doing this is to see if I can. Learn the...

Re: EDM/Trance/Place-subcategory-here Track
Thanks for the comments, compliments, etc. Re the name "Movements," That was one issue I had, I SUCK at naming tunes. I won't be sticking with "Movements," it will remain untitled until something jumps in my head that is obviously the right moniker. Chord progression-wise ... fro...

EDM/Trance/Place-subcategory-here Track
I have been wanting to try my hand at something like this for a while. Usually I pay little or no attention to trends. I just create music as it appears in my head, for the fun of it, with no apologies or pretense. In some cases I do covers, like my cover of Tangerine Dream's Choronzon, which came o...

Re: Original Track
Thanks for the reply and info. What I got when I listened to it was the feeling that it needed some space, some breathers, and pretty much for the same reason. The samples pretty much drove the harmonies/themes, but I know some work could be done to either shift away to a different harmonic center f...

Original Track
This is not a new track, but a few years old ... 7 or so. Made with DP7, Ethno, EW Silver edition and a few other plugs. I wanted to post it here as the use of Ethno is, well, obvious. You will recognize the samples. Also, its all DP, and I wanted to get critical advice, etc. Thanks for listening. h...

Re: Installing Ethno Sounds
Thanks for the info ... I was finally able to successfully load the sounds. I re-un-archived the files using MOTU's recommended tool (The Unarchiver) rather than the one I already had. I then replaced the 3 in applicationsupport/motu/ethno with the newly extracted files and tried again. I think I st...

Re: Installing Ethno Sounds
Thanks for the reply...
I'm going to re-un-archive the downloaded files using the recommended un-RARer rather than what I used. that's the only thing I can think of for now. I'll write to MOTU if nothing else works.
