Have you tried installing the latest driver? I'm on El Capitan with a Ultralite AVB and I was experiencing the same problem over USB, crackles for a couple seconds every half hour or so. I was experiencing this on Yosemite as well. I believe it started when I updated the Ultralite firmware a month o...
