Re: Anyone using Polar?

I sometimes like using Polar for things like guitar textures.

I will say, it would be immensely more useful if you could put inserts into the record path like a tape loop, or if DP would allow you to route the outs back to the ins. I doubt that'll happen though. Ah well

Re: Recommendations on a multi-delay plugin

What about d16 Sigmund?

It's only 4 delay lines, but they are fully independent, including the feedback I believe. You also get a drive circuit, filtering, and some decent modulation capabilities:

Anyone using an Expressive E Touche on Windows?

I'm interested in trying out one of these touche MIDI controllers, but am concerned about compatibility. Right now the ExpressiveE web page (and their tech support) say that it is not supported on DP for Windows because the companion plugin (Lie) fails DP's VST validation. However, I know that many ...

Re: DP9 weird AUX problem: muted BUS still produces sound!

I would check for a duplicate bundle in the bundles window. That can definitely cause behavior like what you're describing.

Re: Clear MIDI Controller problems

If you are referring to the mixing board's attach MIDI controller function (and its "Clear" counterpart), I have also had some trouble with this, but not consistently. I haven't detected a pattern. When it works, it's great. But it's annoying enough when it doesn't that I frequently don't ...

Re: Changing relative Volumes on Visible Tracks simultaneous

What about the trim automation modes?

If you select the range you want to change, then pop all your tracks into "Range Trim Latch", it will write new automation to the previously empty tracks at whatever value you drag them to, while also scaling the auto you've already got.

Re: Bounce issue

Are you using MIDI to control parameters in either Reaktor or Guitar Rig? I've seen some weird stuff where that causes bumps in automation on bounce that don't exist in realtime playback. I used to freeze the tracks using those specific plugs to be safe.

Re: 10.01 way less efficient than 8.07

I believe that, as part of the audio engine work they did in 9 and 9.5, there was some mention that the latency was reduced at all buffer sizes, such that running at 256 is now the same in terms of actual round trip latency as what had been occurring at, say 128 before. I don't recall where MOTU men...

I'd expect so. Unfortunately mine didn't come with a manual. The installed folder has only the app and an uninstaller.

How does one access that? Perhaps the demo doesn't include it?

Re: Plugin Doctor

This is a pretty neat tool. I've messed with it a bit to see which purportedly 'analog' plugins are adding distortion/color, where in the spectrum and how much. No substitute for listening, of course, but certainly educational. One thing I haven't been able to figure out, though, is just what "...

Re: Multiple layers of markers

No way to do layers that I'm aware of. I use a prefix in the marker name, then use the search field in the markers window to look at only the ones I want to see. For instance, anything I want to adjust/fix will be prefixed with "TODO:...", so I can just search for that and quickly jump to ...

You can also do this with temporary grouping; select the tracks, hold the "T" key, and create new take.

Re: Aux Tracks for Individual Articulations?

I agree with previous posts - not worth the trouble. Two things to consider: Most of Spitfire's stuff does offer some mix flexibility - different mics, on-board EQ, and the like that can address some things if you feel the need. Also, if you want to retain the ability to treat each one individually,...

Re: Shortcut keys (track size and renaming a soundbite)

There is a command to zoom to selected track (Ctr-Opt-Z). That fills the whole screen, though. Not sure if that's what you want. But when used together with Ctrl-left-bracket it's fast and handy.

As for your original query, sorry, I am not aware of an alternative to the ones already mentioned.
