Re: MTPAV Parallel and Windows XP
Right, and I've read about ganging a parallel & USB unit together way back, but have never attempted. I had also read 'something' about using an MTP AV between two computers, but I'd have to research that again. But wondering is ganging a USB & parallel together, will also work between two c...

Re: MTPAV Parallel and Windows XP
*** Another UPDATE*** It's March 17th 2016 now lol. But for the archives... As last said I was able to get my MTP AV parallel unit connected to that Win XP 32 bit PC which had a parallel port with a driver that opens clockworks. Though with my newer PC's, I never could get it connected as those moth...

Re: 4 Timepiece AV Networking questions
I have CRS (can't remember ••••) and I'm not very experienced, but I could have 'sworn' I read that the USB has to be the master, and that they can be networked with/without connected to a computer. Someone can prove me wrong :?: And I now see that you didn't mean 'networking' in your other thread I...

Re: MTP: MIDI chaining
Interesting question, I have bith a USB & Parallel MVP AV and was wondering the same thing. But to clarify, you don't mean to say you want to just 'network' them together via their own designated connections? I'm going back and forth between the two thoughts...networking if I just need more MIDI...

Re: Clockworks, MTP AV, No routings
I'm using an MTP AV on my Win XP servicebpack 2 quad machine. I've had the same issues. Somehow floundering around I've cured it. Honestly I forgot what did the trick before. Just a few days ago I turned on my DAW...after a while of working, it was the same problem again. I only tried for a few minu...

Re: used vs new motu hardware?
I've bought many used items, including used Motu hardware....older parallel & USB. Like anything you buy used it's a crap -shoot.... there may be something wrong with it or not. Hopefully the seller is forthcoming. I've had some issues, but most of the time things work as they should. Regarding ...

I am about to try to make a serial/parallel version of MTP AV work with my computer. I have two computers actually and wondering the ups and downs of the various scenarios. My desktop has both a serial and parallel port. My laptop has only USB and parallel. Are there any advantages or disadvantages...

Re: Older MOTU parallel/series units - to PC with serial?
I found that article I mentioned above, regarding the mention of connecting a MOTU to a PC via the 9 pin serial port, as well as parallel port. It's an SOS article, so I assume that it's acurate that the serial works as well as the parallel. Here's that article... http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/199...

Older MOTU parallel/series units - to PC with serial?
Hi, I've searched for HOURS on this.... I can connect an older MOTU parallel/serial unit to my older PC with a parallel port on the back plate ok via the MOTU's 25 pin parallel port & is working ok... But, my newer PC has only has a 9 pin serial header out directly on the mobo. At 1st I thought/...

Re: Motu Timepiece's display readout not in English...?
Continuing on for archive purposes if nothing else... Dave @MOTU tech support said that the "junk" I'm seeing on the display indicates an internal problem with the unit. He suggested resetting it (back to factory default) by powering on & pressing the panic button & if that doesn't...

Re: MTPAV Parallel and Windows XP
UPDATE*** ...Though I DO still have that strange display issue... I believe I finally got the drivers to properly install. Turns out it really wasn't installed as I had thought. I was fooling around & I don't know if this makes any difference, but before, I right-clicked the little blue computer...

Re: Motu Timepiece's display readout not in English...?
Thanks MIDI L.C.! I actually downloaded & saved that newer universal driver yesterday, though didn't install it because #1, it requires Win XP service pack 3 and I only have service pack 2 installed on my older DAW machine currently. #2 I can't remember if my Aardvark Q10's & Aark 24 cards d...

Re: Motu Timepiece's display readout not in English...?
Thanks again for the suggestions..Until someone comes along here that has experienced these strange displays...I DID email MOTU tech support to ask if it's in some kind of diagnostic mode like you mentioned, and asked if it might be a battery issue. Though according to Motu's battery check procedure...
