Re: NAMM 2015: DP9
Definitely not. In fact, this update seems to be a good reason for me to stop using DP. :banghead: I'm starting to feel like I spend more time struggling against the software than it helping me, and the hope I've had for many of these workflow issues to be fixed has waned to nothing. I'm still goin...

Re: A question about UA accelerator cards
Adding my two cents on the Satellite firewire issues... I have a Quad attached to a PCIe firewire bus card on my 2008 MacPro (my firewire 828mk3 runs on the other firewire bus), and I sometimes have disconnect problems during a heavy mix. With less complicated sessions I rarely have problems, and on...

Re: Stretching a Vocal Note
I'm assuming the 10 vocalists are all singing together on one track (either mono or stereo), or this task would be even more daunting with 10 individual tracks and the phase/sync issues. If you try DP's stretch tool and it doesn't sound good enough, I had one other crazy thought... perhaps you could...

Re: SoundRadix Drum Leveler -- miracle worker
Hmmm... I didn't notice that, but I'll keep an ear out. The only track I had to attenuate with the output faders was a tambourine track, and I ended up preferring the track with my usual compressors rather than Drum Leveler. Maybe the problem you mentioned is why I felt that way, but I didn't spend ...

Re: SoundRadix Drum Leveler -- miracle worker
Thanks for the quick review and reminder, mhschmieder! Despite having a bit too much wine at a New Years Eve Party, I was able to buy this for $99 with my iPhone at 11:59 last night. It's every bit the miracle worker you described. I believe my days of struggling with too much hi hat or cymbals in t...

Re: Signal / Tone Generator in DP 8?
+1 Thanks Gary, what a great tool! I've been using some homemade straight test tones for years, but recently needed sweeps and pink noise, so this will fit that bill perfectly.

Hey Shooshie, what about this... Surfer eq from SoundRadix? It follows pitch on the track, and eq's differently for each note, AND you can specify which harmonic(s) you want to eq.... http://www.jrrshop.com/computer-software/plugins-processors/eq-filter-plugins/soundradix-surfereq I think that migh...

Re: Plug-in Alliance $99 sale... Dynamic Spectrum Mapper!
Sorry, thinking out loud again about the saxophone traveling harmonic/timbre control concept... this actually might be exactly what DSM can do, provided you can find a section of the audio where you like the timbre, you can then snapshot it and apply it to less pleasing areas. At least that's what I...

Re: Plug-in Alliance $99 sale... Dynamic Spectrum Mapper!
So, picture this: you're looking at a Middle C on a saxophone, and you think the reed sounds too bright (or dark). If you were looking at an a FFT display, you might see that it's the 4th overtone sticking out (or subdued). You could bring that overtone down (or up), then play a scale, and the 4th ...

Re: Plug-in Alliance $99 sale... Dynamic Spectrum Mapper!
Good tip on JRRShop, towerproductions. DSM is cool, and now I'm also curious about the Gliss EQ from Voxengo. Sounds like it might be a similar thing, but approaching it from the eq angle first, with some frequency-determined compression capabilities added on top. I know Voxengo also makes Soniforme...

Re: Plug-in Alliance $99 sale... Dynamic Spectrum Mapper!
Is it different from Ozone 6? I'm only up to Ozone 5, which is another desert island plug (along with RX4...), and I confess it's been a long time since I tried the snapshot approach in Ozone because it kind of baffled me when I first tried it, and I haven't gone back to try it since. Perhaps if I ...

Re: Plug-in Alliance $99 sale... Dynamic Spectrum Mapper!
It's one of my desert island plugs... it's a multi, multi band compressor that's frequency dependent, and lets you take a snapshot of a track or a mix you like, and apply the same sonic character anywhere else. That's a really simple explanation of a complicated, yet easy to use plug-in. The best th...

Plug-in Alliance $99 sale... Dynamic Spectrum Mapper!
Not that we need more temptation to part from our hard-earned money these days, but I've been holding out for a sale on Dynamic Spectrum Mapper from Plug-in Alliance, and the wait was definitely worth it... $99 until November 30th. I picked that up this morning, but wonder if anyone feels any of the...
