Very late to reply, but thank you...I ended up using Audacity for this purpose.

It actually surprises me how much I use Audacity, even though I have Cubase, DP and PT...It's much quicker with simple operations like reversing, separating or merging stereo tracks etc.

Since asking, this is what I've been doin' as per advice above:

1. Ctrl + F (opens View Filters window)
2. Uncheck "Notes"
3. Delete everything that's left in the tracks window
4. Check Notes, close the V.F. window...DONE!

Takes 10 sec.

Another thing that can speed up the loading times is VEP.
For larger projects I always load them in there, even on the same machine...And if DP crashes, guess what - it's still loaded.

Thank you for the tip about not using Export, guys.

So far my workaround for DP exporting with an initial tempo of q=3 has been to open the MIDI file in Sibelius, delete the tempo marking, and copy whatever the next one is (the real one).
This will help me not mess around with it.

Update:

bussing works with Windows audio selected as the driver in the setup/configure audio system. It doesn't when m-audio or mbox asio drivers are selected.
